Good player, but ginger, so will boo.0

Have to agree with you as I've just just made an "Oh Deary me" comment on that exact thread.Kap10 said:
Yeah but it gives us something to talk about over and above the club melt down threadmaybe_baby said:This thread is crumbs...why would anyone with a life want to know who is booing or not. The saddest fact of all is that this kind of thread is repeated time and time again, and on many forums. He's just a footballer, its not the return of Satan.

Oh yeh? I seem to recollect he left the field in tears after missing. Did he already have the contract in his locker then?BigRedEvil said:I'm going to boo him for 90 minutes. Fairly obvious he deliberately missed the penalty so he could get his dream move upto Middlesbrough

interesting to note that Nicky Bailey played at Right Back last saturday in the loss to watford.... i could hv never seen him as a right back for us tbh ...0
-
He always tried and left us in the right manner (i.e. no tantrums or refusing to play etc). He wasn;t the greatest player to wear the sirt, but he wasn.t the worst either. No reason to boo him imo and a polite round of applause is desereved I think, but certainly no need for a heroes welcome either.0

Booooooooooo.
Cost us the play-offs.0 -
Nothing seems to me to sum up the whole ridiculousness of some people's attitudes to football than their expressed desire to boo Nicky Bailey. A guy that always gave his best and never shirked. A player that tried so hard, there's someone on here with their dog named after him! "Cost us the play-offs", you're having a laugh mate. Try looking at the bigger picture, if it wasn't for Bailey we'd have barely been above mid-table.
Of course, the second he starts that old rolling around malarky I'll be be booing like a good 'un ;-)0 -
Can't remember our Nicky Bailey song:
"Oh, Nicky Bailey ...."
Remind me how it goes.0 -

That's it, Kap. Remember being at Swindon when Bails scored a last minute equaliser - and it went mental with that song!0

Brian Cole taught me it (Not many words so learnt quickly) and sang it on the terraces at Brentford, then sang it in the Upper West very loudly to giggles and sour looks.Oggy Red said:That's it, Kap. Ps Occaisionally sang to Christian Dailly, replacing Ginger with Curly

Boo shocking in that semi final0

Without his goals we wouldn't have been in the playoffs. If you boo him then you're a simple minded idiot in my opinion.0

Agreed, Bailey was the heart and soul of the team that season, was played out of position at left-midfield for most of the season but ran his bollocks off, put his foot in and scored some cracking goals.cafctom said:Without his goals we wouldn't have been in the playoffs. No choice but to sell him in the end and the money kept us afloat and we replaced him with real quality with Oxo McCormack so people can't complain anyway.0 -
In the Southend home game he went down like he'd been shot and had a roll around. I saw him the following day and sarcastically asked him how his injury was , he then preceded to roll his trouser leg up and show me a nasty cut up his leg , made me feel rather daft for questioning him.0

We sponsored him and I have to say he was a really nice fella. Very down to earth, talked of his love of watching his best mate Puncheon play, and also said if Charlton wanted him to stay he would be more than happy...even said He'd love it if Puncheon joined us too.0

I've never seen someone so genuinly distraught at being dropped. He gave his all and really wanted to succeed in every single game.0
-
No reason to boo him in my eyes but I bet people do. I understand why we boo the likes of Mills, Pitcher etc but I never understood the booing on ex loyal players.0
-
Didn't much like his propensity to "overact" and the way he constantly chirpped at the ref but I agree he gave it everything and scored a lot of vital goals for us. So no booing please as he was a player who did make a difference.0
-
Unfortunately theres quite a few of them knocking about at Charlton, got quite a few boos in the North Upper which annoyed me.cafctom said:Without his goals we wouldn't have been in the playoffs. If you boo him then you're a simple minded idiot in my opinion.
And as I've said before still not buying his 'overreactions' he did genuinely get kicked a lot as he was our best player.
