Lets Be sensible

I've got no problem with out old, early 21st-century-Charlton patience, the idea that going up to the top flight would do more harm than good very rarely comes with convincing supporting evidence. After all, our yo-yo-ing in the late 90s was all a part of building the team that won the championship and finished 9th.

It's only a problem if you spend to stay up. Otherwise, it's a massive money-spinner that, in the medium term, will raise the funds for the club.

Of course, that's not allowing for the Charlton fans who love a moan, and will have a field day turning the Valley into a cauldron of spite again, should we have a season of losses.

All moot anyway - being a mid-table team means spending a chunk of time worrying about relegation, and a chunk of time thinking promotion is do-able.

That is made harder by the fact that Leicester have to play both Forest and Bolton in their last four games.

Or potentially easier if they both draw?
