my brick is there0
-
I think its a great idea.0

How strong are they? Could a car drive over them? If so, they could re-surface the West Stand Car Park instead.0

I have been constantly on to the club for years rather like Bart Simpson . . . 'Can I have A brick yet . . . can I have a brick yet . . . can I have a brick yet . . . ' Well they've now come up with this. I will certainly be grabbing my bit of immortality. My 2 uncles (since passed over) deserve a slate each, having totalled over 120 years of supporting Charlton. The only problem my family has is: does the offer have a time limit or is it space senseative, what to put on our uncles slate. My own slate: "Charlton, you're in my heart, you're in my soul". Is that too cheesy or too Rod".0

The single stone (200mm x 100mm) in red granite is £50, the double stone (200mm x 200mm) is £99 and the celebration stone (400mm x 400mm) in black granite is £499.

Tempted to do one for my dad. We do have a family brick already but it was done a long time ago and before all his grandchildren were born0 -

The longevity of The Valley cynics will note in the t+c's that the club reserve the right to relocate them at any stage

Or let them fade away, be hidden by a statue, or covered by a rubber mat on matchdays - just like the floor bricks are.0

I guarantee it's a high quality rubber mat...Valiantphil said:Or let them fade away, be hidden by a statue, or covered by a rubber mat on matchdays - just like the floor bricks are.

Could you get 4 of the £99 blocks & put them together rather than the £500 one? They cover the same area! ;o)0

interesting FAQ
How long will the stones last?
The stones will last indefinitely; however, we can only guarantee that they will be in the location for 10 years. This is the minimum but we have every reason to believe they will be there for years to come.
sounds as if they dont plan to move away from the valley anytime soon0 -
That's 2-0 I still think "forever cafc" is better. If I get not more replies by 11pm I will ignore you and covered end as I know you both and go with my choice :}

I think it's great idea. The more I think about it the more I think it's winner all round tbh. Yeah obviously it's a money making venture by the club but I do feel you'll get something for ya money....and I don't just mean a shiny stone with ya name on.
It will strengthen the identity of the club within its immediate area/community and strengthen the bond with it's supporters. In time it'll add another dimension to the real `history' of the club. A history of real supporters names who were/are proud to be associated with CAFC.
My Dad is well into enjoying his retirement now, touch wood its a long way off yet, but when he does kick the 'ol bucket it would be an honour to get him one of those black stones. For all the years of money spend and suffering he's endured he's definitely earned it, by God he's earned it....I think i'd have it engraved `Wadda load of rubbish!!' or `I wish I could just walk away'....
Yeah the whole thing and the stones position etc could come to an end one day but nothing lasts forever. If it does something nice for individuals or families or whatever whilst helping the club in a decent, respectful and morally sound manner then i'm all for it.0 -

Is this a way of getting the pot holes fixed for free? Seriously though if you've got a spare 50 bucks, just do it, or regret not doing it for years to come. I'm so pleased I purchased mine all those years ago.0
