Gonna take a wild guess and assume this is what he was tweeting about last night. Azeez and Cousins on standby so that might also explain Ade's rather cryptic tweet yesterday.

Brilliant news !! Another coup for our fantastic Academy and the gaffer !

    Seconded!

There was a lot of negativity that another of our starlets was poached earlier this week but perversely it's a fabulous advertisement for local kids to come to our academy as opposed to going to one of the big boys from day one.
Sadly it's to be expected that we will lose some players along the way to the big boys as they can turn their heads financially - but as and when we become one of the big boys.....the hunted becomes the hunter.

We will thenhave the advantage of already having the great staff and, seemingly great, players at the club and could go on to something special.

The two lads who have recently departed (whose names I honestly can't currently recall) may go on and be world beaters.....or as is more likely may go on and do the chief sum of nothing on a football pitch but just have a nice car on their driveway for a couple of years while they try to make it.

Thank God for that,I was getting quite confused and worried about the possibility of losing Azeez.

From the Sullivan info it sounds like we're sorting our contracts for next year now - hopefully Harriot will be top of list of those getting offers.

Kasey Palmer and Archie Edwards.Yes Swisdom if we get Cat 1 status the hunted becomes the hunter. But we will not get cat1 status for a good number of years,if at all.It will need a large outlay of cash and we do not seem to have any.The Premiership clubs basically held a gun to the head of the football League clubs in getting them to accept the new rules which are so biased in their favour. It sickens me that the bigger clubs get bigger and the rest of the Football League clubs pick up the crumbs from the floor. The difference in TV money from the Premiership to the rest of the Football League is obscene and raising the parachute payments just makes the gap even wider.I am worried that Kasey and Archie will not be the only players that are cherry picked by the bigger clubs. As Henry has said we had a chance to become a Cat 1 status Academy and for whatever reason the plug was pulled.

I'm guessing it was pulled for monetary reasons but look at how our academey has performed this season? U18s and U21's won their leagues. It doesn't get much better than that. Whilst it will attract the big boys to try and cherry pick our better players - it shows we aredoing something VERY right at the club and could/should attract more interest and players. So we get regarded as a stepping stone for a couple of years - so be it. IF it gives us the money to continue as a club and work towards the aim of getting into the premiershp then that's a sacrifice we have to deal with. I'm absolutely not saying it is right or fair but it is just the way it is in football.

AS an aside - I note the Kuwaiti's made a few references to "youth" in their blurb I have seen dotten around on here this week. If they are not interested in buying the club I wonder if they would be receptive to dipping a toe at CAFC with the youth setup. relatively speaking it's pocket change to get us to CAT1

No insider info but an interesting thought nonetheless

Find it incredible (& very worrying) that Harriot will be out of contract in a month.
Surely he should have been signed up 6 months ago ?

Maybe 6 months ago he wasn't looking as though he would make it but he's been given the opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. Always excited when he gets the ball, not sure what he's going to do, the exuberance of youth and no fear.
  • Congrats to CH but also to Cousins, & Azeez for being standbys and Ajayi for making the Nigerian squad. All promising youngsters - just hope they stay and develop with us, returning us to the PL.
  • Congratulations to Callum--a player that already attracts fans' attention when he has the ball.

Given that the current board do not publicise fees and contract dealings how do we know that CH and others have not already been renewed, extended or told they will be released?

Archie Edwardes? What have I missed here? Not gone surely? He's only just come into the under-18's!

Well I'm sick about that. Gutted doesn't cover it. I really thought the big clubs would be put off by his slight build. Why do these big clubs need to sign up any youngster who shows a bit of promise? Mind you they may have come unstuck with Sean McGinty.

Sean McGinty has lost most and probably we have lost a player who could have done something for us with the right nurturing. It has got ridiculous now.
