Dany N'Guessan

Substituted last night after coming on as a sub. Don't think he was very happy.
Can anyone remember it happening to one of our players because the manager felt the substitution wasn't working?

Why not just yell at him to drop back?

I'm sure i've seen it happen when we had someone sent off and we then sub'd someone who came on only shortly before - could it have been Swindon last Boxing Day.?

    My thoughts entirely.

He was booed as he left the pitch as well.

You can understand that and the player should be OK with it, seen this happen many times. But to be subbed when coming on as a sub.................ouch.

  • OP - I seem to remember a game where Ambrose, who I don't think was fully fit, was brought on, got the goal (maybe assist) that we needed and then was subbed off because he had done his job? Something like that anyway.

Arsenal fans showed their class with Eboue a few years back.

Jonatan Johansson came on as a sub after a first half injury and didn't see out the match. Only time I remember it happening

Yep. He came on as sub for the second half start. Scored a goal quite quickly then walked around uninterested as if his job was done for the day so was rightly subbed.

Just had a look at Millwall Online (yeah, what's that condition when you can't help but look at something awful?)...

Anyway, one of their fans measured response to N'Guessan's substitution is this:

"n guesson i hope he gets gang raped by a gang of HIV positive queers"

Can't make it up! That's what they dooo.....

Think it was last game of the season v Villa when we possibly finished 7th in Prem
Curbs told me after that fixture Carlton Coles agent rang him on behalf of Carlton to complain about being subbed , short shrift is the polite way of saying how he dealt with it !

Poor sentence structure...he used 'gang' twice.

Don't miss tomorrow's SLP for a Dany N'Guessan exclusive - as the subbed sub has his say.
  • His contract has been terminated today. I wonder if we will offer him a contact (if we have any money to do so)

Let's hope not, one of the up sides of being skint!
  • I'd be pleased to hear he'd joined us, really useful impact sub with an eye for goal. Whether there's funds is the big question and is it worth having another body that ain't likely to start any time soon? Several midfielders & strikers ahead of him in the pecking order, he'd be ahead of Green tho'. getting sidetracked - spotted DG's car in the west stand carpark on saturday and I've been grumpy ever since - very ordinary footballers really do earn stupid money... :(
  • As said in another thread, Millwall have cancelled his contract so he can join Swindon.

Out of interest - what was it? Spoke to Solly at Welling pre-season just after he parked his white Audi A3 - which isn't exactly a supercar!

There is a reason why he didn't get on well at Millwall, I don't think the effort he put in here would have lasted long enough for the ink to dry on a new contract. I could be wrong but, that is the impression I get, they certainly don't rate him.

Glad for Dany and very glad for us. Did ok in L1 but never Champ quality. Not good enough for Millwall, nowhere near good enough for us.
