    The new deal at Spurs is a Red Herring imho I think they are just protecting themselves because having contracted means they remain in control of any fee if/when he moves on.

    He looks a very good player from what I've seen over the few games he's played. As long as he's not too expensive, I'd be happy to have him back.

    I'd have him in the team for next season no doubt..c'mon TJ/MS sign him! He has pace, strength and knows where the goal is....oh and he's young and teamed up well with Yann and Harry today.

    Would prefer to see us compete for players like Sordell, DJ Campbell or Adamoah if we are serious about improving on 9th place next yr.

    I think I read somewhere that he was going to be out of contract in the Summer but that Spurs extended it by a year in order to give themselves some negotiating leverage if a club wanted Obika on a permanent basis. He is not, realistically, going to get into their first team. Levy is quite astute in the transfer market and I think they would probably want too much for a player who has potential, for sure, but is largely unproven.

    Absent other offers, a further loan deal is a possibility, although it would be useful to have an enforceable option, failing which, another Championship club might nip in and sign him in the January window.

    I don't know if Ricardo Fuller is one a two year deal or, for example, a one year with an option exercisable by us. If he stays, that is likely to reduce our room to manoeuvre in the striker department.

    Was impressed with Obika yesterday. CP giving him full 90 mins with a fit Haynes on the bench suggests CP was looking to see if Obika could link with Yann.
    With Fuller possibly going it suggests a promising new season with options of Kermo/Haynes (who have shown they can work together) and Kermo/Obika.
    Haynes' hamstring history must be a concern which suggests an additional striker needed - maybe Fuller will stay on revised package?

    I think he's well worth spending a couple of hundred thousand on (if we've got it).

    I was thinking about this too. Surely that would have been a gamble in case he didn't score for us at all, in which case they'd have been stuck with his wages for next year? Does seem odd they signed him for any other reason though - he's not getting anywhere near their team and is already 22.

    My guess is that Spurs have extended because they haven't written him off, like we did with Mambo last season. A loan to us would probably suit all parties. The board need to make it happen.
