...plus he's right. Odemwingie is a massive twat.

Adrian Chiles is the worst thing to have happened to football on TV. Ever.
It is a mystery to me why they allow him to host big games when it is clear he know little about the game, is mistaken in his view that he is funny, and cant talk for five minutes without making a mistake.
As for him calling someone else a twat, I am surprised he wasn't hit in the face by a massive iron straight after.
The worst thing is that ITV Sport has Matt Smith. Now he may not be the best host but he does at least watch the odd game and when he did the championship show he made a fair pass at it. He would be a massive improvement on Chiles who I have not managed to watch for more than ten minutes before I start screaming at the TV over all the obvious mistake and twatish comments. I have to watch him on mute for fear of breaking the TV.
In short, if I ever met Mr Chiles I would have to punch him in the face. A lot. Hard. And possibly kick him when he goes down.0 -
Chiles is always more concerned by the stupid shit fans are getting up to in the crowd because he knows f*** all about whats happening on the pitch.0
-
I'm constantly amazed at Roy Keane's forbearance in not decking him (yet).0

100% in the wrong.
You can't go along to a company event which they've asked you to host and then just abuse one of the employees.
And even if you are going to make a joke out of it, at least try and make it funny.0 -
Well, just be sure to video that, as I'm sure Henry could get a good price for it at auction:-)DRF said:Adrian Chiles is the worst thing to have happened to football on TV. Ever.

Chiles is a WBA fan of long standing and was obviously given some leeway, perhaps too much leeway. Chiles has a good face for radio where he is fairly entertaining and amusing. On TV, he simply tries too hard to be both earnest and amusing at the same time. It doesn't work0

Alternatively if I'd turned up for work at another workplace before the deal had been done, I think I'd expect people to crack a few jokes about it at the Christmas kneesup or whatever. Isn't taking the pee out of staff a mainstay of after dinner guests at corporate events?cafctom said:100% in the wrong.

Well it isn't Odemwingie's fault that Chiles decided to act like a knob is it?Bournemouth Addick said:

Taking the piss out of staff is common at these sorts of events, calling the bloke a 'twat' when he isn't there is a bit different.
Steve Clarke's got the right to have the hump.0 -
Exactly. Plus, at an awards ceremony it hardly seems inappropriate to say "And the award for Twat of the Year goes to..."Bournemouth Addick said:

Hopefully this leads to him having to resign from covering sport.
Such a horrible presenter.0 -

Yes he has...but only with Odemwingie imo.
It's a silly little, nothing story of course but I can't help thinking some peoples judgement is clouded by who said it rather than what was said and the tone of the event.

So me get this right, you say that if you met Chiles you'd punch him hard in the face, a number of times and then kick him when he's down?DRF said:Adrian Chiles is the worst thing to have happened to football on TV. Ever.

100% this. I think most people who have a problem with Adrian Chiles have that problem because they think they could do his job - and they might be right - but are miffed that they did not get the opportunity he did.Bournemouth Addick said:cafctom said:

I love the idea that a fan gets his say, he cares passionately about West Brom In the same way that many of us care about The Addicks. Judging by the reaction from Albion fans I know, he hit the nail on the head with his comments. Chiles was there before Steve Clarke even knew where West Brom was, and he will be there when Clarke leaves for a "bigger" job.0 -
Odemwingie got himself involved with some verbals with their supporters during the warm up yesterday. Seems many of them agree with Chiles.0
-
Yes, he might have come on as a substitute, but the reaction of the crowd suggested that wouldn't have been a popular move!Bournemouth Addick said:Odemwingie got himself involved with some verbals with their supporters during the warm up yesterday. Seems many of them agree with Chiles.
