valley gold next season

We could see a jump in fans subscribing to vg next season if leicester and brentford both win promotion as that will probably mean at least 8 away games where charlton will sell out their allocation...brentford, bournemouth, brighton, palace, millwall, qpr, reading and watford...throw in a challenge for promotion and that number might even increase...

Doubt we'd sell out Watford or reading, but fingers crossed more people sign up

I'm considering joining VG this year, especially as I can't get a season ticket due to hopefully being away at Uni next year..

We didn't even sell out millwall this year.

If you want a ticket for an away game, you're very likely to get one.

We didn't even sell out millwall this year.

There are fairly specific (and obvious) reasons why supporters might choose to avoid Millwall, but would go to other, slightly further SE teams...

The thread is a good point though, ticket priority would certainly encourage me to sign up!

You already get ticket priority with VG.

One of the main drivers for big away followings when we have them is new ground syndrome. As the only team that'll be in our league that we haven't played in a while will be Doncaster I'd doubt we'd sell out any non-crucial games next season. Again, depending on how crucial the game is, I doubt we'll even sell out Selhurst/Den.
  • Seemed like we had pretty good turnouts for both those games this season just ended...now that scp has got the measure of the championship next season could be a good one...if say 1500 vg members decide to take up their 2 tickets then that should take care if most away allocations I would have thought

No chance will every VG member take up their allocation of two tickets. If your a s/t with a few away games under your belt you'll definitely get a ticket to anything you want. BTW I'm not discouraging people from signing up to VG - far from it, I'm a member myself.

could be reduced allocations for Palace and Millwall, deffo sign up to VG if not already, and why not if you can afford it, great way of helping safeguard the future of CAFC

Valley Gold ST holders usually only account for a few hundred away sales, because a lot of members tend to be people who don't travel often. Just being in Valley Gold is - or ought to be - lower priority than a ST holder.

So it's a good way to buy priority, if you're an ST, but might not work if you're not and there is substantial demand for a game.
