Sorry Pettgra but this is the oldest trick in the book. Say you will listen to your customers or employees leads to a justification of your decision whilst sharing the responsibility with those who might complain vocally if it doesn't work out. If he listens to the fans, he will hear them say Mourinho or Guardiola.pettgra said:Kenwright said he will seek guidance from fans as to who they should approach. How refreshing that a Chairman does not assume that he always know best.

If our board listened to our fans then CP would have been out of a job around this time two seasons ago.0

time to excommunicate him then!DPFC said:My son in law born in liverpool, everton season ticket holder until he married my daughter and moved south has written to Bill kenwright and said he wants Chris Powell to take over . He's asked the rest of his family to do the same

You do have a very valid point, I must admit.Cardinal Sin said:

I am one of them. No Shame in admitting it considering What had happened the previous 5 years before it.

I think anyone could do a job at Utd, some of the best players in the world, a new manager on the touchline won't change much. I don't get this manager stuff, waaay to much emphasis put on them. You telling me that if Ferguson was our manager this year we would of gone up?? Yeah right..0

Really? You've obviously thought this out.

I don't agree Powell would have gone. I f there was a poll at that time, the overwhelming verdict would have been, must do better but give him a chance. Don't rewrite history. It's bad enough hearing in the press that we forced Curbishley out. I certainly didn't, nor 99% of the rest of our fans. He wanted a new challenge!
As for Kenwright - If the fans think they have had a part in choosing the next manager, they won't blame him if it goes belly up. If it goes well, he'll claim all the success.

You wouldn't agree that managers get too much credit? So if another manager was on the touchline at Utd this season, the players wouldn't have performed to the same level? Really?

Whatever you think of Fergie, I don't think you can overtstate what a fantastic job he has done for United.0

If fergie had managed man city and mancini managed man utd this season I believe man city would have won the league

Nothing against him at all, i just don't understand the amount of emphasis that is placed on managers.MuttleyCAFC said:Whatever you think of Fergie, I don't think you can overtstate what a fantastic job he has done for United.

sacked Curbishleyended Curbishley's contract early and paid him off his final year's salary. The debacle we had of appointing successors0 -
Get the manager right and the rest will follow, cock it up with your managerial appointment..... The rest will follow.0

Yeah but RM wanted Curbishley to extend his contract because he thought it would affect players signing if they knew the managers contract had only one year left on it(like they give a fuck) , I'm surprised Everton didn't do the same with Moyes at the end of last season!!!ThreadKiller said:
