Community Day at the Valley - Well done Charlton

As a junior red, my son was invited to a community day at the Valley yesterday. They had 2 junior reds teams playing against local sides in a tounament. My wife rushed him up there straight from school and they arrived late. He missed the junior red's first match but fortunately one of the teams, Bromley Wanderers were a player short and had no keeper so he played for them. He had a great time playing on the Valley pitch and it was a brilliant initiative by the club. It gave a 12 year old boy a lot of pleasure, playing on his team's pitch. Wish I had the chance when I was a kid! Well done the community scheme.

That's the best the pitch has looked all year !
Well done, bet your lad had a great time.0 -
He was talking about the saves he made all evening. Worth the rushed trip from Hertfordshire. Bonus was qualifying for final Group without conceeding. Unfortunately they came up against a team full of older kids (Whole team were size of men!) but he did well and they only lost 2-0. Drew 1-1 in the third place play off.0
