    Comes across as a really down to earth lad and would like him to do well but can't see him winning this without an unlikely ko even with home advantage.

    The Choi fight on the undercard was a battle.

    Turned into a real war now. Fair play to Burns, he took some huge punches in the 7th and has for the first time hurt Gonzalez.

    Most would fight on with broken hand or wrist and usually do my brother had a full on flu and still went the distance

    Surely he could've just walked round in circles for 9 minutes?

    He managed that for the last 2 rounds.

    He might be a knockout artist but that's not the heart of a champion or a world class fighter.

    Did seem a strange ending,why did they wait until the start of the round to quit when he could have done it as soon as he sat down? Takes the gloss off Burns' victory for sure

    Looking back, i'd agree with you. People have fought with broken hands before, it's not something that he'd need to quit for (especially in a world title fight). But that's more down to Gonzalez than Burns doing well.

    Plenty of boxers fight on with broken hands and worse.

    Unbeaten fighter, winning the fight with a few rounds to go.....wasn't his hand/wrist that stopped him.

    Burns has one of the biggest hearts in boxing, Gonzalez clearly doesn't

    All 3 judges had Chelo Gonzalez up 3 rounds when he quit on his stool.

    Without knowing the injury its à bit unfair to say he bottled it. He didn't get this far to à world title fight Without showing more bottle than anyone on this forum. Makes me laugh.
