My sisters just been diagnosed with this (lives up north - Pickering).
Was shocked as always thought this was a North American disease - put paid to Daryl Halls career after he caught it.
Watch out for the little blighters who love your dogs.

    Friend of mine got this when we were living in NY, got it from deer ticks. Half his face went numb, and spent time at hospital, then medication. Seems fine now though, just was told how important it was to get medical advice asap.

    I get 2 or 3 ticks off my dogs every night in the summer, even though we use Advantix
