Starting to get very worried with number of goals conceded from crosses what do you lot think?

  • Agree, we have no obvious dominant centre half. Although I was hoping that Sodje would be that man. Think Mills has added some steel but obviously opposing teams pick out our defending of crosses and set pieces as our biggest weakness. Its not helped by Weaver not being a 'keeper who comes for crosses.

It's still early days. Fortune and Magic are starting to get an effective partnership. Sodje looked OK when he came on but needs a game or two. Goals like the one we conceded will happen from time to time. Chins up. It will get better.

Im more worried how the ball is being launched from midfield areas into our box didnt Semedo turn his back on the guy who crossed it on Saturday that lead to the goal. this was the same againt Coventry.

Shame we didnt scored earlier then sling on say another defensive midfielder like Arter not Holland.

Anyway we are going well 8 games unbeaten.

It was a pretty wickedly hit cross which would be diffcult to defend even if Maldini was in our team. I tend to agree about closing down so that crosses cannot be delivered. If Semedo was at fault then I can forgive him because he's improving with every game.

If we're talking about Barnsley's goal in particular, the centre back whose job it is to challenge and prevent the attacking header did exactly what he needed to do. Not the furthest clearance maybe but as Bing said it was a wicked cross.

The goal was not scored from the cross but from the clearance and the fault was with those around who stood ball watching. I'm more worried about that than crosses themselves.
