Will be interesting to see how this affects the attendance given the aggravation caused by last season's arrangements and the heightened risk of trouble.

Will the TV appearance fee make up for the lost ticket revenue?

The police would probably have moved the kickoff time forward anyway, even if we weren't on tv...

are the other televised football league live games on saturdays 12.15 because that seems a bit earlier than the norm , what was it last year ??
pretty sure the prem games were 12.45 don't know about championship matches

All of the other Saturday lunchtime Football League games they've scheduled so far are also 12.15 kick offs. I would guess the thinking behind it is so that they can get at the lunchtime audience first and hope that some of them will stay with the Football League game rather than switching over to BT/ESPN/whoever's showing the Premier League match at 12.45. Wishful thinking for the most part.

Won't be much in it. The £30 ticket price is now untenable, given the already considerable resistance to attending matches against Millwall among a lot of Charlton supporters, yet the club will still have all the cost of security and they will still sell out so may stick to it.

I can imagine only about 10,000 Charlton fans attending, which will look poor on TV. But there's not much the club can do to resist Sky, even if Prothero et al grasped the problem.

The club needs to do carefully targeted match ticket promotions to lapsed season ticket holders if they want a half respectable crowd, I reckon. Even that will be a security issue.
