Carlisle Promotions of 81 & 86

I know this quite a long time ago now but does anyone know which newspapers at the time of the 81 and 86 promotions at Carlisle gave the best write up about these games. I know back then 2nd tier and 3rd tier games didn't get the coverage thay get now. I have plenty of good papers from our 2012 promotion at Carlisle but was wondering if anyone knew which were the best papers for the 81 and 86 promotions there. Maybe local papers would be better but I was wondering which the best National papers were. In particular Thanks in advance.

    National or local? I'd say your best bet was probably The Mercury

    I'm sure the Mercury was good but I was just wondering about National papers?

    Kentish Independent, would have given us the best coverage.

    If i can find it, I've got a scrapbook somewhere with clippings from the promotion season. If i can dig it out ill put some up on here.

    I've got all the papers from 86 but they are back home in Wrotham....
