Love these behind the scenes videos of the preseason tour. Can't fault the team of characters that Chris Powell has brought together and made into solid unit.

Gower seems like a right laugh, and looks like he's fitting in well. Such a great, likeable bunch of lads.

It's heart-warming stuff, so lovely for an old-timer like me to see a team of physically super-fit young lads enjoying themselves. Our esprit de corps will be worth a good few points this coming season. I'm proud to be an Addick.

This is what I found when my boy was mascot at Boro, total focus and silence when he's speaking. Very impressive, even I was quiet.,,,

I found myself thinking that exact same thought earlier funnily enough. I think you're right on the money there.

The respect they have for Powell, and vice-versa, combined with the banter and genuine friendship they seem to have for each-other - it really does look like an awesome team to be part of. No apparent egos either.

I think you are spot on, Lucky: call me an old softie, but the video brought a tear to the eye and made the old heart swell with pride. No prima donnas, as you say: all equals. And the universal respect for Powell, whose work for the PFA stands him in good stead because it enabled him to learn all about his fellow-professionals and to earn their trust. Never met him, but love the man. What a team, eh? I can't wait for 3 August!

They seem to be bearing up remarkably well despite the fact that the club is teetering on the brink of oblivion, withdrawing offers made in good faith, failing to invest in youth and so on.

Thought this video, and more postings from Spain on the OS today, are a refreshing change. Also, Powell's candid message the other day about Evina. The club are actually telling us a bit about what's going on!

I am moving from mild depression from thoughts of our apparent financial situation, to excitement caused by watching my grandson's friend Joe finishing off three chances at Welling with true natural skill, and now looking at a very bonded squad so obviously enjoying what they do. If we as supporters can show the right encouragement when the season starts, who knows where it can take us. COYR.
  • Enjoyed that video , thankyou.

love these vids, top bunch of lads. When it comes to signings, Powell really needs to keep bringing in players that will get on with this lot, you can have all the quality you want but I think the last few seasons have shown how big/important our team spirit is

from watching the various vids online, I really get the feeling powelly is creating something very special almost a Wimbledon esque team spirit of the 80s, yes we might not have any superstars but team spirit and belief can still go a very long way in modern football, are we the new crazy gang?? who knows but im loving the team bonding and the fact it appears they would run through walls for each other. not bothered about signings at all we will sign someone but as long as the team will die for the cause which it appears is the case I cant wait for the season to start.
  • well the squad certainly seem close
