Do you prefer watching football on TV to live?

We're doing this months, 'and another thing...' on armchair football fans. We need people who are going to be in London on the 15th or the 16th October. We're looking for people who prefer to watch football at home or at the pub than live through preference and not because of financial reasons. If you're interested, could you send an email to matthew.weiner@haymarket.com. It will take place in a West London pub (to be decided) at around 6.30pm

    I prefer watching football on TV 442. However I don't live in London and thus you would need to pay for my flight from Vancouver. Also I can't make it next week but anytime around February 9th (but not on that day) would be a great time for me to come over.

    I don't mind armchair football fans per se - so long as they accept that their opinion on football will always be bettered by someone who goes to games (no matter how many of the stats from 442 magazine they've sat in their bedroom learning....).

    yeah most of them in Carshalton - the amount of chelsea shirts you see on a saturday when they are at HOME is hilarious.

    The only good thing about watching football at home is the opportunity to see contentious decisions again. Other than that, the atmosphere's not as good, you never get to see the whole pitch, you're reliant on the cameraman's speed of thought / movement, and you only get to see what the director wants you to see. I can understand if you don't have the time / money to go to every game, cos god knows I don't, but watching it on the telly is a poor second to actually being there.
