New Executive vice-chairman and Charlton director who replaces Peter Varney today.

Hard act to follow without doubt but he will hopefully strengthen the club. Will be interesting to see what he brings to the brings to the table. He certainly has an impressive CV from his time with Umbro.

Will invite him to a Q & A at Bromley when he's got his feet under the table.

    excuse the stupid question but what will he be doing at the club? what does a Executive vice-chairman and Charlton directors job involve?...trying to find a new money man?

    I heard that he's in hospital as a result of this incident and is in the throes of suing the club for £2.6 million.

    Prothero arrived in mid August, about the 15th. It was claimed he would start work on August 1st, but he was on a cruise at the time, I believe. Or maybe a private boat.

    Then I was premature and not for the first time. In any case he's now fifty weeks in.
