Charlotte Green will succeed James Alexander Gordon as the voice of the classified football results on BBC radio.
Ex-Radio 4 newsreader Green, who supports Tottenham Hotspur, will begin reading the classifieds on Radio 5 live and the World Service on 28 September.
"As a six-year-old I used to sit reading the football scores out loud so this is a dream come true," said Green.
Green, 57, is the Broadcasting Press Guild's Radio Broadcaster of the Year.
