Best performance by an inanimate object in a movie?

Wilson the Volleyball from Cast Away

Probably the most comedic of all of the performances, the way that Wilson goes through his various hairstyles and character mutations shows great range as an actor. It throws back the witty rejoinders to Tom Hanks cast away and they work as well as a team since Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis. It also has the greatest death scene ever performed by an Inanimate Object in a film in recent memory.

The boot scraper in Wind in the Willows. Without it, Mole would never have found Badger's house and would have been killed and/or sexually assaulted by the weasels. Christmas day would have been less jolly if that had happened.

Well Wilson was better than Hanks (see answer in worst actor thread).
