Will be a Premiership player before long. As with Shelvey & Jenkinson, enjoy it while it lasts & hope the fee's good :)

Next player that needs a new contract - assuming he's only on a 1 year deal at the moment.

Think he has plenty to offer as a defensive midfielder or further forward in a more box to box role.

He has more than potential - looks like he has the quality to be a key player already based on what I've seen of him so far.

Man of the match. Get him signed up ASAP, as he is going to be one hell of a player.

    Really pleased for him.

Have seen him from a young level and when I saw him 12 months ago I was worried he was losing his way. Really hope he can get a run now and build on it.

The next Parker. Hope he's sensible to play for a year or two with us and get some regular games.
Really classy player. Love the way he instructs other players on the pitch
  • He looks à natural on the pitch. Not since parker have i seen such ability at that age.
  • Not a chance on earth will this lad be here long , Real deal footballer a proper one great baller and engine

Wow thats high praise , Bowyer was none too shabby at 18?
  • Much better than both at that age, prob the best youngster performance I have seen

    Absolutely outstanding tonight.
  • Looks excellent from what I have seen. Hope we can tie him to a longer contract. Come on Prothero, pull your finger out man.
  • if he finds goals he will be unreal
  • A fantastic player, great balance and awareness, tackles strongly and looks the part already.
Why not let him lead the midfield going forward(and put Stephens as a defensive cover in front of the back four, his defending and tackling has improved greatly but he's far too slow in delivering a quick pass to a forward who needs the ball early).
Cousins has the ability to pick the runners out early,he sees and appreciates so much for such a young player. And he is only going to improve.
  • personally mate I wouldn't change it at all he looked so comfortable there and his engine means he is box to box all day long

He's got the makings of a talented player, but I would sat that Bowyer, Parker and Jonjo were better than he was at that age. They set the bar pretty high though...

  • based on tonights game I don't think parker bowyer or jonjo played better at that age only Solly would push it close

Worst player ever, not good enough for the Prem best if everyone just left him to play for Charlton.

I think you'll find that he's far better than that ;-)

Agreed. If any scouts are reading this, ignore everything that's been said and trust me. He's too small, too slow, can't tackle and can't pass...

That is a very big call, he's provably more advanced than Parker - he bloomed relatively late - but not close to Bowyer.

Bowyer was the outstanding midfielder in the entire division in 95/96, scored 14 goals - including a hat trick against a Premiership team.

Cousins has talent but he's nowhere near where Bowyer was - yet.
  • Was purring over his display tonight, a performance ahead of his years.

Has balance, presence and makes it look easy. Really impressed.

You mean he hasn't been to McD's in Woolwich yet?? (Or was it Plumstead?? ;-))

Saw the lad play centre midfield in a under 21 game back in April and for whatever reason did not look interested. Since the start of this season, maybe the penny has dropped. Last night he looked very confident on the ball, plays with his head up, and good to see a strong big midfielder in there who wants the ball and will put his foot in.
