Next player that needs a new contract - assuming he's only on a 1 year deal at the moment.

He has more than potential - looks like he has the quality to be a key player already based on what I've seen of him so far.

A fantastic player,great balance and awareness,tackles strongly and looks the part already.
Why not let him lead the midfield going forward(and put Stephens as a defensive cover in front of the back four,his defending and tackling has improved greatly but he's far too slow in delivering a quick pass to a forward who needs the ball early).
Cousins has the ability to pick the runners out early,he sees and appreciates so much for such a young player.And he is only going to improve.0 -
personally mate I wouldn't change it at all he looked so comfortable there and his engine means he is box to box all day long0

Bowyer was the outstanding midfielder in the entire division in 95/96, scored 14 goals - including a hat trick against a Premiership team.
Cousins has talent but he's nowhere near where Bowyer was - yet.

Saw the lad play centre midfield in a under 21 game back in April and for whatever reason did not look interested. Since the start of this season, maybe the penny has dropped. Last night he looked very confident on the ball, plays with his head up, and good to see a strong big midfielder in there who wants the ball and will put his foot in.0
