A Big Thank You

To whoever picked up my dozy son's ST that he dropped on the way home Tuesday night, somewhere between the ground and Charlton Park Lane.

The kind person was good enough to return the book to the ground and we had a phone call yesterday from the club to say he could pick it up on Saturday.

Every game we have to go through a performance of him trying to find his season ticket and tomorrow should be fun as we haven't told him yet. He's always confident he knows where he's put it after a game or what pocket it is in. We'll see how long he bluffs it out tomorrow.

So if you post on here kind person: THANK YOU!

  • Wasnt me who found it but I've certainly done that a few times over the years (inc. paying £10 for a replacement one only for the police to call me the next day saying someone had handed it in)

There are some cruel b*tar**s out there. ;-)

Nice touch not telling him though.
  • If he "loses" it again Riviera, then you know he doesn't want to go anymore and is too polite to admit it!! ;o)
  • I used to do as a kid. always pretending "yeah, yeah.. course I know where my season ticket is." then a quick rush just as we're meant to be leaving trying to find it in the mess that was my bedroom.
  • Why don't you just look after his ST for him?

when he concedes defeat you should say you'll have to pick up a "new" one from the ground and it'll cost him a tenner

That would be ledge if he reads this, goes down today to get the season ticket, then when riviera goes to teach him a lesson tomorrow his son just waves the ticket at him.

No he doesn't and to even imagine he'd make such an effort is beyond the reams of reality.

Have you considered that the kindest course of action would be to let it remain lost? Just think of all those hours of misery you would be sparing him.

Could it have been a kind Millwall supporter who returned the season ticket.

    I blame the parents.

I won't have a bad word said about his Mum - she's a lovely lady and would never forget where she put something as important as a Charlton ST.

His Dad, on the other hand, has been known to allow the pickpockets of Cheltenham feast themsleves on money not so carefully concealed in his back pocket (albeit winning it all back on the last race - and more - with money borrowed from a friend!).

Glass houses and all that ;-)

So after a frantic search on Saturday we finally told him his ticket had to be collected from the Box Office as it had been handed in after being found in the street last Tuesday.

Can you believe what he said???

"When do you reckon it fell out of your pocket Dad?" !!!! Bloody cheek! I hardly ever go with him as he has his own gang and I haven't looked after his ST since he was 10, but he still tried to shift the blame.

    Kids!
