Poyet has stated in the past that he would not manage his son as he is already his harshest critic and it would be 'too damaging to Diego's career to have me on his back every day". No reason to think he's changed his opinion.

According to Cawley in today's SLP Poyet is due to be offered a new contract because we see him alongside Jordan Cousins as our future midfield combo.
  • He'll be gone then!

  • With the current problems Sunderland have, that's the last place an 18 year old trying to break into the first team should be heading
  • Diego was his usual immaculate self in yesterday's U21 game.

I live in Brighton. ST Holder in upper north. Poyet senior was always very clear in a number of interviews that he would never manage his son at a club. It would be bad for Father and Son he felt.
