Hiding threads

Is there a way to hide specific threads that you don't want to see? Or do I have to just exercise some willpower and not open them? ;0)

    Click General Charlton, say, and you only see the content in that category and none of the rest.

    Thanks Len. Would really like to just pick stuff I don't want as I use the other categories too. But appreciate your help.
