Just some thoughts
What has happened to Charlton? Where are all the household names? We didn't recognise any of the names of your players at all (with the exception of Church)
Church I thought was the only player that posed a threat to us. Was delighted when he was taken off.
Was disappointed with the way Town played, was a very dull performance and one that I hope is not repeated by us soon.

Championship is littered with players you've never heard, though surprised you haven't heard of Johnnie Jackson or Kermorgant.
Amazing hoe we all see different things. Though Church was no threat to you at all.0 -
i thought church was unfairly subbed, cant say any of your players stood out but maybe mcgoldrick as he has a fulleresque look about him and our two cbs couldnt handle him0

Church posed a threat ? In what way. I also hadn't heard of most of the Ipswich players. Two poor teams .0

I forgot to mention your Captain, the guy with 'that' haircut. How he can call himself a footballer I will never know!
Love the groung though, some decent friendly people at Charlton, always enjoy coming down.0 -
Great numbers for Ipswich, I think they done a job on us , invited us to break them down and look to counter , 3 points job done0

It's funny, I can't remember which away game it was (Blackburn maybe?), we were chatting to some of the home fans in a pub afterwards and they were saying they thought Church was our best player when I thought he'd been pretty anonymous. Maybe that's the type of player he is and we just don't fully appreciate his output ?0

Church fools everybody by running around like a maniac all game, unfortunately that includes our management team.0

This, however at least 9 or 10 of the players, including those on the bench, would have been in and around the team you played last season! No household names but what would you expect from a team promoted from L1? Long gone are the days of Ray Crawford, Herman Hereiderson, Matty Holland and Darren Bent, more's the pity. Did you see what I did there? :0)AFKABartram said:Championship is littered with players you've never heard, though surprised you haven't heard of Johnnie Jackson or Kermorgant.

Edit: just beat me to it Chunes and no offence to any ex IT players omitted like Danny Haynes0 -
Yea, would appreciate him more if he was a lazy fecker.Granpa said:Church fools everybody by running around like a maniac all game, unfortunately that includes our management team.

Funny you say that as I did not recognise hardly any of your lot.JackITFC said:Spent an enjoyable afternoon in the Millennium Bar prior to the match with a great view too.

Sorry we didn't live up to the galactico image you had of us.3

You're right he didn't have a good day, but that's one of the reasons he's in the Championship. If he had a good game every time out he'd be playing in the Premiership; well, that and if he had a bit more speed.JackITFC said:I forgot to mention your Captain, the guy with 'that' haircut. To be fair to Jackson though, he is usually very good. He's more technically gifted than most in our squad and is usually a real battler as well. If there is someone who can turn a game around for us it's usually him. Last year he was our leading goalscorer from midfield - yes, I know that says a lot about our forwards ;-) Sadly, he didn't seem up to much on Saturday; he had an injury a short while back and I'm not convinced he's fully recovered.0 -
That's our problem Jack, everyone loves coming down to Charlton, lovely ground, friendly fans and 3 points....what's not to like.JackITFC said:I forgot to mention your Captain, the guy with 'that' haircut. How he can call himself a footballer I will never know!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Jack... Condescending.1

Or Marcus Bent come to that mind you can understand why he should be forgotten apart from the goal that earned us a point on debut at Chelsea.thai malaysia addick said:

Always expect something memorable to happen against Ipswich.
Leaburns hat trick
The 4-4 and (I think) peakies rocket
The play off semis
Fa cup games 3-2 defeat when we were 2-0 up (simonson era) and when we took loads to Portman road on our cup run in about 1980.0 -

Portman Road = £50 a ticket still ?
If so, not for me (again) this season.0
