SLP reporting Blackburn interest in Big Yann

Please god no!

BLACKBURN Rovers are interested in Charlton striker Yann Kermorgant.
But the South London Press understands that Kermorgant wants to stay with the Addicks and sign a new long-term contract.
The situation is made more fluid due to the fact that Charlton are in advanced takeover talks, with a sale anticipated before the end of the year.
Kermorgant is aware of those discussions and knows that his future is unlikely to be sorted before the ownership of the club is resolved.
"Blackburn have been after him for some time but the thing is the club don't want him to go and the boy doesn't really want to leave," said a Valley source.
"Blackburn have enquired about his contractual situation but there's not been anything else.
"He is hoping he can sign a new deal at Charlton soon."

They can have Little Yann and normal sized Yann but Big Yann? never
  • i imagine that kermorgant will stay till he retires. why would he move to blackburn for a bit more money. he is probably settled. he will stay

Providing we do offer him a new contract of course.
  • we will though. takeover goes htrough, we sign tons of new contracts and finish top half.

If the resources are made available for us to sign players to new contracts then I expect Yann would be one of the first we would look to sort out.

I suspect that Yann's agent may - not unreasonably - be stirring the pot.

There is also bound to be intense speculation about Jordan Rhodes leaving in the January window, so journalists will, in turn, probably also be speculating about Blackburn signing replacement forwards (not that Rhodes is replaceable at Championship level ).

Wow, we're signing Jordan Rhodes, bring it on!

They wanted him in the summer and Yann was told to decide where he wanted to be. He made his choice

    Hope Yann doesn't like cock-in-a-van!
  • Very unlikely. Blackburn have recently announced losses of well over £30m. Cos of financial fair play they have to reduce their costs quickly (not take on more costs) or face a transfer embargo. Don't agree that Kermo could be a replacment for Rhodes. Very different players. Story planted by the agent I reckon.

With our soon to be new owners we'll be the ones with the Kerms and Rhodes striker force

This, the story is laughable. Yann is not in Rhodes league and if Blackburn sold Rhodes they could afford better than Yann.
