Now I know your a pretty shrewd business man , Mr RD, but you've been here 2 weeks now , and we haven't signed any strikers.
Patience is a virtue as they say, but if we don't get any decent ones soon , we will be up the Thames without a paddle, as they say in these parts, c'mon Roly sort it out!

I'm hoping that the lack of rumours, 99.99999999% of which turn out to be bollocks anyway, means we are seriously and quietly pursuing some targets.

I'm not expecting much if I'm honest. Just enough to get by and stay safe.
It's all about the summer for me.
  • Maybe he's list his debit card? Get Le Fondre!

    Don't think it does.

I think most of us will be quite happy to stay up, but there's always the question of how much is enough. If we can do it with loans etc then fair enough, but can we?
  • I just REALLY hope we do or will REALLY fear for us

Roland is just gearing up for deadline day, calm down everyone! He'll have Jim White on speed dial and will be hanging out of car windows live on Sky Sports News with Chris Powell in the passenger seat, two forwards and a winger in the back. Done deal. ITK.

Yes chop chop Roland. Get a couple of strikers in get us safe then write this piss poor boring season off. Off load all the dead wood in the summer and bring in a good 10 players or so and start again fresh next season.

That's news to me... Last time I heard he was only injured.

  • clubs need to move before us in this one, we will get in someone who another club deem surplus but not until that club gets in a replacement

Why? There is clearly a transition taking place and the new people are evaluating before they commit to anything.

Perhaps they thought why bother with a 5 week loan? Or we can do better than him.

no big issue here. If this was a week ago then why would a brand new owner who has just shelled out £20mill and finding out the pitch isnt playable shell out more money straight away.

    Makes perfect sense

have some forgotten-----instantly we got the pitch cover and within days signed on a guy from SLeige ?

what got us in this mess was not understanding the base running cost of CAFC we cant expect RDs crew to suss this in 3 weeks.

It may have been, there is no need for him. We will get you a better striker on a perm or longer loan.

Powell probably used that as an excuse to let the lad down. He's not going to say "Sorry mate, we have money now so I want someone better..jog on".
  • Chris Wood

    Is he available? Surely not?

i thought he was injured and its why they got in Phillips ?
  • Wood is just coming back from a hamstring injury, came on as a late sub in their win v Derby last friday.

Just one striker will do for me, Yann is still mustard on his day and Church will be okay for cover.

    + Smith & Piggott. Agree.

Thought the first priority would be getting new contracts for our current team? Losing all our assets at the end of the season and having to rebuild would either be expensive or end up shoddy. I'm sure we'll sign a new striker at some point.

I'm surprised by the way they've not given Smith a go, but loan deals will only help him.
