Cort out for another couple of months

by the sounds of it

"The specialist has seen him a number of times, I think he saw them again last week, and they were hoping he'd be a bit further ahead. Sadly he isn't. We just have to give him the time and treatment he needs to be fit again.

"He's a big loss. He is a good option for me. He is a very good Championship player who knows the level. He is good in both boxes and a good presence I haven't been able to get out on the pitch as much as I'd like. It's a real shame.

A real shame. I believe he's our best centre half.

One has to fear, at his age now, that this injury could be career ending.

I hope not as he is a decent player.

    Good luck Leon.

This underlines our need for another centre back for the squad,I would say that is more important than a striker,Ben Haim from Standard liege would fit the bill in my view.

Will this injury not be the end of his career, which is a shame. He was goos defender for us, with him in dfence we coped better with the arial threat some teams pound us with.

Unless we are able to get someone in who will instantly be our #1 defender, I would rather give one of our youngsters the position of 'another centre back for the squad'

Is Kevin Feely ready to be the 4th choice CB?

Judging by his loan spell at Carlisle earlier this season, not yet.

Lennon has been on the bench recently so think he may have overtaken Feely.

Pity for Cort, was a big player for us last season and has been missed. Like the way Wood has fitted in and Dervite can do a job, but maybe if there are funds available we should look for a new CB.
  • Shame. Was a very decent player. Doubt we will see him again.

It appears Harry Lennon has overtaken him if his couple of unused sub appearances are anything to go by.I'd like to see either or even both plus Fox and Poyet given a chance against Oxford in the replay

Real shame for him given his age and contractual situation.
  • Very good c.b. But how many games has he actually played for us? I think C.P. signed him during the league winning season but I don't recall him playing much.Last season a bit in and out and we haven't seen him this season. Shame really.

He has played enough games for us to know that he is a loss for us.

Very good in the air. Will never forget his performance away at Oldham where he managed to get his head in practically everything that came near the area!
