SCP suggested he would have made the squad for Barnsley and will be on the train to Boro.He was not signed in time for Oxford.

In the squad for tomorrow. Was in the squad for Barnsley. Couldn't play against Oxford as the FA screwed the paperwork up and he wasn't signed in time.

If he wasn't registered in time for Oxford, how was he in the squad for Barnsley?

The registration counts for the original fixture.

Chris Powell said yesterday that all the paperwork was completed and faxed to the FA before the 3rd Round mid-day deadline the day before the match - but the FA neglected to process it in time.

And as Clem says, if the registration isn't processed by the deadline before the original fixture, the player is not permitted to be named in all subsequent games/replays of that round of the Cup.

The Barnsley game wasn't a Cup game and the player's registration was processed well ahead of that match.

Could you not complain if it was an FA balls-up that lead to the registration being late? I doubt CP is excited enough by his new signing to bother, I am just curious.
