That was FA Cup 1996, not a replay though. Midweek game at Anfield due to our 4th round tie against Brentford being postponed.
Did we not play them a year or 2 before or after and draw 1-1 with them, what was the score in the replay of that. Was that a 2-0 defeat or something similar
96/97 League Cup v Liverpool 1-1 draw. Stuffed 4 -1 at Anfield in the replay
Should've won the Valley game though. Remember having a few chances, including young Kevin Lisbie

FA Cup wasn't a replay, we were drawn away at Anfield to start with. Two lads from my school took the afternoon off for "dentist appointments" and were caught by the Match of the Day cameras celebrating Grant's goal. League Cup the following season was a replay. Drew 1 - 1 at home, taking the lead through David Whyte. Approaching the end, Lisbie got a touch in a goalmouth scramble, it was goalbound until it bounced and the spin on the ball somehow took it wide.
Bit boring playing Liverpool in consecutive seasons, much prefer playing Huddersfield over and over and over again.

Correct re the FA Cup game not being a replay. Playing it Midweek, got me confused there.
