I'm not into IT stuff but they can't upload a video but can put up new stories and the net and send us emails. How?

Bandwidth. It's a much bigger file to upload and will be very slow to go up if the network is running slowly. Generally upload speed is much slower than download by design.

The concern for me is that the comms team said we would like a lot what we here. With each hour that passes, I fear that what we may have liked is becoming watered down.

Hmm. Thinking about it now, I hear some playing staff have had meetings and maybe the video is about renewing contracts but filmed before the players meetings.

Maybe the players meetings didn't go to well.
    Jeeeeez.

THERE IS NOTHING....I REPEAT....NOTHING WRONG. PURE ISSUES WITH IT STUFF.

STOP LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT'S NOT THERE.
I know that mucca. As you can tell from my other posts. I couldn't give a shyte if the video goes up today or next week but the comment from bb did make me think of something.

One would take very little bandwidth and could be done over 3G/LTE, the other is a HD video which would take a couple of years to upload over the phone.

With the current Charlton situation, spending bit to strengthen now or lose millions in tv money, it seems obvious but maybe Duchalet is prepared for relegation and wants to rebuild the club from the roots up ? If that is the case, Duchalet will need to be clear about the direction to bring the supporters with him.
  • The video was up this morning. I'm in Canada and thought I'd check when I woke up at about 5.30am (10.30am UK time). I went on CAFC Player through the Football League app. It was about 12 mins in total - I got about halfway through and it froze and seemed to disappear from Player when I tried again.

No revelations in the 1st half of it. RM spoke first, said we'd be seeing him at most games rather than RD due to his other obligations. Fans would be hearing from him on the corporate side of things but would probably rather hear from CP as fans want to know more about team issues. He mentioned CP rather than just saying 'the manager'...not sure if that's significant....

RD spoke next, there was talk of FFP and how clubs can't just buy success. He said we had a good reputation for bringing youth through and said Standard Liege were similar in that respect. Aim this season is to stay in the Championship.

Sorry I can't remember what else was said...I assumed it would be up permanently so was planning to watch it when I was a bit more awake. Interested to know what else was said in the 2nd half of it, where I assume we'll hear from Katrien.
  • its all understood now, they got the EK addicks to proof watch the video and they have decided not to share this info with anyone and told the club to do the same

That's strange because when I looked this morning all I got was a still image of RD holding up a tactics board similar to this:

I get the impression there's something mentioned - either contractual or a signing - and there's currently a hitch. As soon as that's sorted it will be issued.

Wish people would calm down and stop using every possible opportunity to slag the club off

Feck me, Charlton not using a fibre optic connection?? My humble 4G EE phone has 28Mbps upload and 28Mbps download - next on shopping list a Fibre Optic Broadband connection for the comms team(!) ;-)

Seriously - if the video is fecked up then surely the comms team would put up an article covering the main highlights on website? Cannot see why this is not happening and seems to indicate something amiss somewhere as it is the key role of the communication team to communicate via any channels available...

    Some good news.

Chris Powell has confirmed this morning that he is coming to Bromley Addicks, with Alex Dyer, next month.

Maybe the meeting with RD went very well?

Can the transfer window thread have a similar disclaimer as this thread title as it saved a lot of my time?
