I'm a Northern based fan, Halifax to be precise and I spotted a ginger haired, smartly dressed Charlton fan climb aboard the Halifax bound train at Hudds station along with a young girl, most likely his daughter last weekend following the smash and grab job at Hudds...

I would guess he was in his 30's and the girl 5ish.

To my surprise they got off at Halifax then jumped into one of the local taxi firms... I was in awe.....

I was taken a back as in all my years of following Charlton I've never seen another Halifax based fan (other than my mate)...

To understand the significance of this event I'll spell it out:

1 - A Charlton fan in Halifax
2 - A smartly dressed Charlton fan
3 - A ginger haired Charlton fan

Does anyone know of the identity of this flame haired addick...

On another note I've calculated that the chap and his daughter, along with myself and my mate make it that over 1% of Charlton supports at Hudds were Halifax based ones... I bet that's a stat you never thought you'd read!!

The mystery is over. That would be my big bro and it was my nieces first Charlton game.
My Dad has just called me to tell me he spotted this. I will let the big bro know as he is often after an Addick to go to a local game.
  • Hi Northern Addick.....that was me. Even more uniquely it was my Leeds born daughters first CAFC game.

It's taken just 21 minutes for CL to identify the mystery person, that's quality.
  • This is great - nothing worse than going to games on your own when you're an "exile"!

I been here since I was two when family moved up here but unc still down there and got me hooked what brings you up north other than the fine Yorkshire ale! Don't forget to tell them about the rule that all meetings must be fully documented on here before bed.

Yep your to blame unc, brainwashed then sent back oop north.. anyway re the bath robes how else do you expect us to do my Christmas shopping ;-) anyhow that's rich coming from a man who dug the famous turf up aka 210985 and planted it in his garden, little piece of fence round it lol!
  • Few more Northern coincidences I once went to school with a lass 30 years since called Lorraine, she lived in Elland and was somehow related to Derek Hales, if anyone ever bumps into him ask him for me as I've not seen her since!

Factoid no 2 - Mark Stuart is a fireman in Bradford where I work I'm determined to meet him.

Factoid no3 I'm mates with a lass at work who's from Bexleyheath and whose Unc Roger us a season ticket holder...

Oh and about 25 years ago I bought 1947 FA Cup programme from Burnley fan as it's near Halifax!

My best mates 2nd team in Charlton, not really a coincidence just cos he knows me!

Pointless starting a Halifax fan club now as I've nowt to gas about ;-)
  • I never knew you had a Charlton v Burnley cup final programme Steve, would you take £5.00 for it?
