    Nooooo!
  • Can't we play under the tent thingy??
  • Pitch has been covered since the last home game hasn't it and we haven't played on it for weeks. Surely it's improved by now?

This is the problem from now until the end of the season. If it rains heavy on the day we are pretty much screwed. Remember the Leeds game just about went ahead after heavy rain on the day.

Oh I have no confidence on it being on, after the Barnsley farce I have no expectations.
  • Win or bust. This is a massive game.

We don't know how much water they have got out of the pitch in the past month - but if they haven't got any - then a decent shower is going to do for the game.

We didn't have a cover then though. Pretty sure that if it's raining on the day they'll leave the covers on as late as possible (not sure when that is, midday-1pm)

Assuming the pitch has dried out completely over the last 3 weeks then unless we get a monsoon at half 2 and 5-6 inches of rain fall in an hour, then i'm sure the game will be on.

We already know there will be a lot of rain Wednesday so here are the Chief Forecaster's comments for the rest of the week.
    Thursday/Friday:
Computer models have moved into much better agreement now for this weather system but unfortunately the most likely outcome is not good news. This means that there is now increased confidence in a period of persistent rain, which may bring a fairly widespread 15 to 25 mm to the areas covered by the warning, possibly around 30 mm in some southern counties. This rain, falling so soon after the previous batch (see warnings for Wednesday), seems likely to exacerbate problems with flooding, especially as further heavy rain seems very likely early on Saturday - again see the separate warning.

    Saturday
Yet another rapidly deepening area of low pressure will approach the southwest later on Friday, before crossing Northern Ireland and central parts of Scotland during the middle of Saturday. A further 20-30 mm of rain is expected widely within the warning area, while 40-50 mm is possible on high ground in the southwest. Coming so soon after previous rainfall events, this is likely to augment the impacts.

Not looking good especially as they will want to leave the tent up as long as possible.

True, but we don't play in Somerset.

I do and I'm coming up on Saturday to get away from it all and sample some of that sunshine you always seem to get in the South East... Don't let me down!

There is drainage, unless of course they grew the grass on a concrete base layer. A drain has collapsed, not the entire ability for water to soak away.

subs Punchum DD AA JJ PP Pig Azeez

Even if Ben is not fit I believe those plastic inflatable ankle boots do give you a fair bit of mobility.

If we defend deep we need pace up top hence Azeez 1st sub, need Aherne Grant in reserve.
