Worst ever Charlton player

Traore worst player by far he was shocking0

As shite as Francis was, the Llera performance at Colchester was on another level of turd.1
-
Iain Dowie has got to damn near be the worst manager ever to piss away eleven million on the crap he bought.
JFH, Pouso (did he ever even play?), Amdy Faye, Dickson (a striker who can't score!), Walton, Diawara.
My favorite nickname from that season was when people called JFH "Moneybank" because he was essentially stealing 40k from the club per week for his crap performances.0 -
Mc clown for me. Seabiscuit's cameo v Ipswich was the stuff of legend though. Rommedahl was not the worst player we've had but he was probably the most disappointing. Just didn't use his talent. Same for Zheng Zhi0

Peter Shaw2

Gary Churchouse would take some beating.1

Anyone who was there will tell you. It wasn't the way he was turned inside out repeatedly by anyone who went near him, nor the way he was bullied by strikers who were, frankly, dogshit, or even the absolute comedy of the own goal he conceded. It was just everything about him that night. Summed up in a nutshell what a poor player he was when off form. It was truly atrocious.tangoflash said:
Don't think I saw that game, but surely can't be a worse performance than Francis had in the cup (think it was the last time he played for us) before powell put him out of his misery........Leroy Ambrose said:
Worst ever performance: Miguel Llera, Col U away about three seasons ago0 -
Scott Sinclair came on as sub trod on the ball and fell over1

Mikel Alonso. One of the worst most off the pace halfs i've ever witnessed.
I don't think it's fair to judge a player on such little game time, especially when so obviously out of condition after injury. Andy Hughes was another player lambasted in that very same fixture you speak of, & he didn't turn out to be too bad.ForeverAddickted said:
Hard to disagree... i.e. the other names mentioned all proved they couldnt handle it in the Premier League but may have done a better job for us in League One - Alonso on the other hand played seven times for Bolton in the Premier League yet then proved that day against Brentford he couldnt even hack League One levelcrookester said:El Khalej, Pouso, Robbie Mustoe, Traore, Faye - admittedly all in the top division. If I have to choose one, it's got to be Alonso. That penalty he gave away was truly shocking!
I think players like Paul Bacon, Jamie Stuart (who started ok, but rapidly went downhill), Ralph Milne, Pawel Abbot hit the high marks for me. Francis joins that list too, as well as McCormack, who I think was one of the worst 'bottlers' i've ever seen in professional football.
However, someone like Akpo I think is a bit unfairly treated, as he wasn't useless, just a bit limited. He popped up with some useful goals & always seemed to work his nuts off.
Wasn't he a Pardew signing? (Same same I guess! - Two dickheads who enjoyed spunking cash like there was no tomorrow!) :-D or :-CAmericanAddick said:Iain Dowie has got to damn near be the worst manager ever to piss away eleven million on the crap he bought.
Dickson (a striker who can't score!)

I was at the Colchester game and indeed Llera's ineptitude put others in the shade. But worst ever player, which is the subject of this thread? I cannot forget the sublime strike against Swindon when with 9 men he earned us a point so I am prepared to overlook his errors. At least he tried unlike that utter dogmess Traore.0

If based on cost and return Marcus Bent has to be high on the list.0

Jim Stannard0

I must remain consistent, Radostin Kishishev. Could not kick the ball. End of. Locked on. Fact.5
-
Kim Grant! Apart from that night at the den.

We've had a lot of s**t at the valley. I'm gana go by manager signings of recent years from curbs.
Curbs - Marcus bent, karim baghari (from Iran)
Dowie - humiliating.
Pardew - izle McLeod, paddy mcdonkey
Parky - Pawel abbot, llera
Powell - Alonso, gower

Diawara?! We'd be begging for him right now. Quality defender in the French leagues.AmericanAddick said:Iain Dowie has got to damn near be the worst manager ever to piss away eleven million on the crap he bought.

Izale Mcleod. Never seen a footballer less interested on being on a football pitch. At least Francis, Mccormack etc however bad their ability looked like they wanted to pretend to be a footballer. Mcleod wouldn't jog a metre to pick up a loose ball. I also remember him jumping to challenge a header and as soon as he landed couldn't be arsed, even if the second ball was right next to him.0

Hard to imagine we were unbeaten before that game at Colchester where I decided to take my dad for his birthday. What a treat that turned out to be!! Thanks Miguel, I haven't been able to get him to a game since!0

French leagues being the key there. To be honest, with the state of the defense we'd be begging for Cory Gibbs, Sorondo or Traore right now.SELR_addicks said:

Harrison. A left back from Watford, I think Mullery signed him. Jimmy Floyd goes close though. Have to be honest, if I had to pick 10 most would be in the last 5 years.0

Paul Curtis!0

No way! He was brilliant in the 1980/1 season. My nomination would be Paul Friar, full back signed from Leicester about 1984. Looked and played like a 12 year old.Vincent said:Peter Shaw
