Prediction Cup 1st round results, replays & minor rule change

Before the news and results, there is an extra rule for the replays. In the event of second draw, the highest placed player will go through to the next round "on penalties". However, there is nothing to stop the higher placed player to copy the predictions of the lower placed player. Therefore, in the event of both players picking the same matches, regardless of the predictions, in the event of a draw, the person choosing their predictions first will go through to the next round.

Plenty of cup nerves, it would seem, as unusually low scores were recorded. In the main cup competition, all of last week's top 5 survived with league leader, RedPanda, convincingly beating young upstart, covered end junior. Alex Wright, shirty5 and Addickted2TheReds face tricky away replays to lower placed opposition CAFCSpooney, tommo and Redmidland respectively. Game of the round was Charlton_Stu's 4-2 win over LenGlover while SELR_Addicks gained the shock of the round with a 1-0 win over 6th placed cblock.

In the Johnstones Paint Prediction Cup, 96th placed Terry Naylor moved into the second round with a win over Addickted.

Results were as follows - games in bold require a replay next weekend. The rest can relax for another week. The next draw will take place on Wednesday 19th February at 1pm - details to follow.
