I was at this game as i remember everyone expectin leaburn to take the pen for his hattrick and pardew stepped up.0

It was the game after the Cup win at Blackburn.
We usually took a packed coach to games, but only 25 or so bothered to turn up. Wasn't the Manor Ground a right dive and that alley way behind the away end? No wonder they wanted and neded to move.
I remember hearing that Keith Peacock almost crashed his car when he heard that Leaburn had almost got a hat-trick.
Happy Days!0 -
Remember this one well, had a set of darts taken off of me by the police before the game !
I used to like Oxford's ground, a complete meccano mis match, but character none the less.0 -

Set of darts at football? You didnt strike me as that sort of person!!!!!!0 -
I was there, always like going to that ground, never saw us lose there.0

My first ever away game without my dad. Me and a mate got the coach which stopped at the pub on the way-the only time I've ever known a coach to do that and we were too young to take advantage.
The Manor Ground was an amazing place, it had about 20 stands/terraces, some of which must have held less than 100 people! I only ever saw us win there though, other memories of two late goals in our promotion season.0 -

I think how we view grounds is often by our first visit and whether we have seen Charlton do well there.
I wasn't at this game but wish I had gone because my memories of the Manor Ground were of being stuffed every time I went and a very long walk back to Oxford city centre after the game.
I particularly remember my first visit in 1980/81 and us losing our 17 match unbeaten run during Mike Bailey's promotion season.
Given the ramshackle nature of the Manor , it almost seems appropriate that the U's have continued this piecemeal approach in their new stadium and the Kassam the scene of Yann's last goal for Charlton is only three sided.0 -

I think they had just beaten Leeds in the cup as I can remember singing "how the f**k did you beat Leeds" as the 4th goal went in.
This was also the last highlight of the season as we played Man U in the cup next, after which the seaon went to sh*t.0 -
I'm afraid I did - 1-0 on Boxing Day 1980, to end our fantastic unbeaten run of 15 wins and two draws in league and cup. We were outraged.Southendaddick said:I was there, always like going to that ground, never saw us lose there.

I had the Tom Tits at this one. Very nearly didn't make it through the game!
Can still see Leaburn's slide past the on-rushing keeper, trickling into the net.0
