Well I must say welll done to East Midlands trains for getting us there when south eastern decided that they could not put on any trains till 1100am A little disapointed that Wednesday could not have called it off on Friday cause that would have save alot of aggro. I set off at 0645!!!!! I will not be able toi go to the replay as can not take anymore annual leave. I think we would have had 2000 up there today @£15 each approx which is £30000. Think we will have 500 for the rearrenged game which is £7500 Would a cover of cost £22500??????
I really feel for people who had a wasted journey, its a real shame.
But a bit of perspective is needed, this is the wettest winter for about 100 years or something crazy and the wild weather is causing lots of damage to property and even tragic deaths.
Therefore, its not surprising that football matches will be postponed and there is not very much that can be done about it.
As for Clattenburg, if he had called the game off on Friday night and Saturday morning arrived with bright blue skies then people would have a go at him for calling it off too soon.
I mean it's not like we don't know that what happened up at Wednesday isn't a possibility

Clubs would like to give the games the best possibility of going ahead, so unfortunately that means inspections being later Otherwise we'll call off loads of games unnecessarily well in advance so as to get rid of the possibilty to ever inconvenience fans
Could The Wednesday have done more , of course they could have but we had a cover for the Barnsley fixture and it was bright sunshine all Saturday morning yet it was called off at 1.30 and as piggy says they are affected by a local river in regards where they are situated on the water table (don't think they have fucked up drainage like us)

Hopped off at Chesterfield, like many others, to try and salvage something from the postponement. Had an excellent pub lunch in a very old pub, the Royal Oak and enjoyed the game against Torquay after a tepid first half. A new ground for us, a very friendly bunch of people and, I might add, an excellent pitch (recognising that the ground is only four years old). Hopefully, we shall not be retracing our steps next season because I think Chesterfield are on the way up.

Our train was at 10:26, we got the news it was called off before we reached the first stop, Leicester. Nonetheless, met a couple of Massives, few blades, and some derby fans, and we had a nice drink until our 1830 train back. Gutting as it was, it's not like we can complain! Not read through the whole thread, but it appears to me that the Wendies did not make a huge amount of effort for this game to go ahead. Maybe that had something to do with the number of injuries and integrating the new loanees into the squad ?
If Rotheram in League One can go ahead then the Wendies game should be going ahead.
Charlton knew the rain situation against Birmingham and even with completely fecked drainage the covers went on, Paddy the groundsman got the pitch ready. The Massives have got a big injury list, and is as we know is a massive club and Hillsborough a top notch state of the art ground. Where's the covers ? Was the rain going to be that heavy during the game ?
