I have started getting loads of ads popping up on my laptop advising that my pc is running slow & also back up is available now etc etc.
Can anybody suggest an adblocker to use please? I don't have google chrome & don't want it so the chrome adblocker is out.
Thanks for any help

Yes I checked google ad blocker but the only ones that came up looked a bit dodgy. I'll have another look tomorrow, thanks anywayAbsurdistan said:Just look for an ad-blocker for the browser you use.

Many thanks for that, I'm a slight technophobe but I've partly resolved the situation.Absurdistan said:
I was trying to find a stream for mondays cup game & clicked on one suggested on here & it was asking me to download this & that which I didn't do & decided to listen to Radio 5 live instead. However clicking on the "stream" seemed to invite a whole heap of add ons/programmes which were throwing adds at me. I decided to go through my programmes & found a load of stuff "installed/added" on monday. Deleted all that I didn't need ran a virus scan & everything is back to normal.
Thanks for your help, I'll install the IE adblocker ;-)
all best
