All I know about this Utd team is they are red hot at the moment and just ready to be brought back down to earth. The Cloughs have never been an FA Cup family.
  • Didn't they rest Harry Mcquire?

Haven't they just lost 3 crucial players to injury?

Their best player is Brayford. He was at Derby last season and is on loan from Cardiff.
He's almost certainly out - injured.

Their 2nd best player Harry Maguire is presently injured and is doubtful, but I reckon will play.

Jamie Murphy who is decent, went off injured & is doubtful & unlikely to play.

I believe they have won their last 6 and have gone from bottom 4 to half way.

On current form they would be top of League 1.

Other than those already mentioned I've heard of Doyle, Baxter and Porter.

Is Howard that young keeper they were raving about last season? I forget.

The guy Scougall they just bought from Livingston looks useful each time I've seen them on the telly.

Had a look on the SU website, and it seems, based on the colour codes, that they have plenty of tickets left.

  • Know next to nothing about them apart from Jose Baxter was once tipped as the 'next big thing' at Everton and i think he was their youngest ever debutant. That's about it.

Any side that can beat Villa and Fulham away and then beat Forest has to be taken pretty seriously though.

I believe Brayford is OUT - this will help as he's been playing well

I think they should be taken VERY seriously. Win after win, Fulham, Villa, Forest looking less and less like coincidences to me. They seem to have a lot of nippy, buzzy players in midfield and in attack, and play for each other. They will be at home with a big crowd roaring them on, unlike Fulham and Tottenham, and they will give everything.
We are going to have to be at our very best or we will get done.

I think they got a decent balance now got some talented young players in Long, Baxter, Maguire, Scougall and Murphy.

Loan signings Brayford and Coady have given them more quality.

Harris is a decent left-back didn't cut it at Blackpool.

Doyle, Collins, Hill and Porter all experienced for a number of seasons at Championship level but think all of them are slightly past their best and league one is their level.

    Key 4 for me GK - Long (19) DF - Maguire (20) MF - Murphy (23) FW - Baxter (21)

I think Brayford and Murphy might be out, with Mcginn and Maguire might return from injury.

    A comment from SU forum....

'Maguire has a slight knee problem but not a problem for the long term, is still a doubt for Tuesday however but should play next Sunday. Brayford done his calf and Murphy done his groin and both will have scans before Tuesday but I doubt either will be fit. Brayford is the most concerning for Clough and could possibly be out for weeks.'

Didnt realise that they have a game this coming Tuesday v Pboro at home - time methinks for CP to do a little bit of scouting.

Anyone travelling up on Sunday and expecting us to stroll through to the semis is going to be in for a shock.

To get a win there, we're going to have to be on top of our game. If we play to the same standard as the Wendy game I fancy us, but we'll definately have to put in more effort than it sounded like we did on Saturday.................
  • If Brayford, Murphy and Maguire do miss the game we really have no excuses not to win the game. Brayford would be in the top three right backs in this league along with Solly and Trippier. I can't believe Maguire is still at Sheffield and Murphy is a big loss for them as well if he doesn't play. He's the only striker they have that would run at out centre backs and cause them a problem, if he misses the game and Porter plays then Sheff Utd will have to change the whole way that they play.

It's bang in form, more of a champ than div1 outfit despite the early season struggles .. we are in for a difficult game on Sunday .. but .. we'll come out with a draw at worst

I make it even as we are more of a League 1 side than Championship hence our position.
