no great shakes but 1-0, JJ free kick just like they're afraid of.
  • PMT. Need a pint. These are the sort of games Professional Football playars earn their money, you'd be shaking in the hours building up to this. Will predict a loss, and pray to be wrong. 2-0
  • Can't see many goals in this one. In fact, there might not be any goals.

Does any one know how much their injuries will effect them?

I'll go for Hamer, Wilson, Wiggins, Wood, Morrison, Poyet, Cousins, AA, Jackson, Church & Tudgay.

I think Powell will be a little bolder this time and go with two up top. Obviously, this leads to the problem of Cousins out on the right again, AA on the left when he, like Cousins is better in the centre.

Aside from AA not starting, the line up against QPR which I thought was a very good performance, included a certain Danny Green. I appreciate he didn't finish the game, nor has he had a good season, but it is clear the right side of midfield is a problem. Cousins' development and performances are actually going backward when I have seen him out there, it's not fair to keep sticking him there. At least with Green he's naturally comfortable on the right. I know many people don't like him and he seems to waste each opportunity he gets when starting, but for the sake of balance.

I just want Powell to be positive. Watching Simon Church up top on his own is very hard to see. Defenders have him in their pockets, it relies on Jackson/AA really getting high up the pitch to support him.

Just watched Powell's pre match meet the press on Player, looks to me that we will have focus.
Class interview (again) and for long term Powell watchers there was certainly something extra about him in the press conference. He was subtle but with an iron core to it, when asked 'which Charlton will turn up', there was a moments pause, hardly any hesitation, a flicker of a smile, a look back and a very measured 'Oh, Charlton will turn up'. Nice moment.
I want the players to play the game not the occasion.
WE are the guys who will play the occasion for them.
  • I'm even more nervous now than I was because I've just found out that my little brother was due to be a mascot at the Brighton away game. This will be moved if we get through because of the semi-final.

Having contacted charlton they said he could have one of the mascot spaces at wembley! He has to have an adult looking after him on the tour, so I will put myself out for him!! Haha.

We haven't told him because he'd be beside himself if that opportunity got taken away!

Please Charlton, don't crush the kids dream!

Notice that arsenal and Everton are using that bloody mango ball. Thought it was supposed to go back to a white one for the quarters! Oh well.

Sounds like everything is happening at the Yann's Not Inn (Jury's Inn).

There's a multi storey between brammall lane and the jury's inn that we've just parked in. Maybe a ten minute walk to the ground.

Not sure if you're joking, Tom but at Thursday evening's VIP mtg, the gaffer confirmed that both Leon & Chris Solly have been invited to travel with the squad but obviously neither are fit enough yet to be considered for the squad itself.

Just to say good luck to all of you for tomorrow from me and JiMMy85. We'd love to be there but he's on a jolly in Texas (no, not the DIY shop!) and I'm not allowed out on my own these days. Probably just as well as Bramall Lane has never been a lucky ground for me, not even when it was a cricket ground as well. Obviously hope you see a Charlton victory to put us in a semi for the first time for 67 years. Have a great day!!

We've not been to Wembley in the FA Cup since Roland was a boy.

As I'm the kiss of death away from The Valley (excepting Wembley), especially in FA Cup quarter finals, I've made the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good and stayed at home.

Please make it worthwhile for me and win. COYR!

If we win we will stay up, players will be more motivated to earn a start at wembley than merely survival.
