I did say to a mate who was singing his heart out on the concourse better save that for when your seated.....
Only thing that peeves me off is when we go juvenile and start slagging other fans rather than getting behind your team.....why wasnt anyone surprised when they started singing are you wednesday in disguise after we braveley sang it to them at 0-01 -
I've never entirely understood the whole 'I'm really macho' bit of 'taunting' rival fans who are at a safe distance away, when there's 22 men out there (attempting) to kick a ball around...Chippycafc said:I did say to a mate who was singing his heart out on the concourse better save that for when your seated.....

Dont know about you, but we were all singing 'You're just a sh~t Sheffield Wednesday' which is funny whatever the score.Chippycafc said:I did say to a mate who was singing his heart out on the concourse better save that for when your seated.....

I thought the atmosphere was weirdly flat from both sets of fans before a ball was even kicked, which seemed strange given the occasion. I suspect it was down to the kick-off time. That's not a complaint about the fans, just an observation.The_President said:
As someone else has mentioned, how could it be anything other than flat after watching that shite.Gillis said:
I don't think anyone's moaning about the fans, just commenting that the atmosphere was a bit flat - which it was.northstandsteve said:FFS turn it in, I've been up since 5 just got in and people are moaning about the fans after that shower of shit the fans ain't got nothing to be sorry for.

I never felt that, when you compare it with the typical; atmosphere at the Valley every week...Gillis said:

I suppose it does depend what you use as a yardstick! Maybe it was just the section I was in, but given the occasion, and in comparison to other matches where we've had very large away followings, it didn't seem particularly lively. I thought the United fans seemed subdued as well until they scored, apart from a brief spell in the first half when they had the goal disallowed.killerandflash said:

But hasn't that happened in the past with the BIG games with a larger than usual away allocation of tickets ?cafctom said:Will likely get pelters for this but our fans really didn't make anywhere near the amount of noise to match all the talk in the build up. Seemed very bemused throughout.
Not condoning what went on this afternoon but it's nothing new.

The split tier thing screws it up completely. Was in the lower and the atmosphere for what was on offer was pretty good. The way it is set out, we never heard the upper tier once so no idea whether it was dead or rocking.0

Was in the upper and couldn't hear the lower once.0

Was in the upper and never heard the lower ...... A few times in the upper the left and right were singing different songs or going at a different paceAFKABartram said:The split tier thing screws it up completely. Think you've hit the nail on the head there. I was in the upper, and like stackitsteve, I couldn't hear the lower.AFKABartram said:The split tier thing screws it up completely. It's harder to make any noise in the BL stand especially the lower tier, I don't even think the roof covers the lower so all the noise seems to go, the upper deck can make some atmosphere but the acoustics is nothing like the Leppings lane stand imo.0
-
This is exactly what I thought, as it was identical in the Lower. Think the whole lower sang the same song altogether 2 or 3 times and when we did it was quite impressive. Otherwise, we also had two sections singing different songs all the time, meaning the whole end had 4 different blocks singing different songs at the same time!!oohaahmortimer said:

No surprise, as we sometimes have 2 different songs when we take about 500!!!

Why are we all blaming the fans for what was a totally inept display , I did sing my heart out but will that ever help Cousins get a first touch or replace the sponges strapped to Church's feet or make one of our midfield look to pass the ball forward1
-
them sponges are impressive, never seen someone cushion a ball so much with shots.oohaahmortimer said:Why are we all blaming the fans for what was a totally inept display , I did sing my heart out but will that ever help Cousins get a first touch or replace the sponges strapped to Church's feet or make one of our midfield look to pass the ball forward

yes they fecking did say it was the fans fault twat go back and read it and i don need a numpty like you to tell me to carry3

I was looking forward to a good sing song today. It never materialised. This was probably due to a lack of excitement on the pitch, lack of booze, the 2 tier thing and the ridiculous pace of the songs. The Cardiff game showed it can happen regardless of what happens on the pitch. And it makes a difference to the players. Its got to happen on Weds. Time to ditch the self indulgence and support the team no matter how crap they play.2
-
No they didn't and being a dick won't make you right, but then you prove that every time you come on here.Goonerhater said:yes they fecking did say it was the fans fault twat go back and read it and i don need a numpty like you to tell me to carry
