Perhaps wrong thread but I just got a call from my general manager that there's some extra work waiting for me to do on Sunday afternoon....(kick-off 8pm local time) If she doesn't let me go before 5pm, I'm prepared to say this to her:
"Look, there's this live football match that I've been looking forward to for two weeks. It's Charlton, the club I support. You may have never heard of them but just think if it was our national team playing in the World Cup quarter-final. This match is literally MY World Cup quarter-final. Whatever remaining work I have to do, please just let me leave it for tomorrow."
I
Don't bother with that. Just say that you feel sick. It's a Sunday ffs: do you really need an excuse to leave?
I guess it would be inappropriate to mention that those bar stewards at the BBC have scheduled a film at 21:15 tonight on BBC3 called "Blades of Glory"?
I've been going since 78 so have seen a fair few ups and downs but have a horrible feeling I'll be walking out after the match more dissapointed than I've ever been.
