cp as agreed financial terms but not football terms, over 20 players in the squad are out of contract at the end of the season a very concerning situation, could be 5 a side next season

And we lose against a team that is brimming with confidence & has already knocked 2 PREM teams out of the Cup. A Cup shock ? No, I don't think so.

Valid points aside, let's not make it more embarrassing by suggesting a capitulation against a team in a lower league, that we all expected to beat, is anything other than an unpleasant shock. I'm a pro-Powell supporter, but his cheerleaders do him no favours sometimes.
Sorry Morts but you are not speaking for me when you say "all expected to beat" because I never had us down to win. Sheff Utd are a very good side and Cloughie has them set up just right at the moment. We are a League 1 side/squad and a poor one at that, there are a few teams down there that we would struggle against and if we do go down anybody who thinks they are going to see a repeat of the 101 points tally is kidding themselves, well at least with the squad we have.

sorry, I thought this was the Andy Ansah thread, who clearly is not related to or does not post things on twitter on behalf of anyone.

    what is condescending about that?

I know you love powell b, but just because others don't, does that mean they cannot say anything?

I don't understand the point in the last para. I'm not stopping anyone from slagging Powell just merely pointing out that your written tone is crap and you come across as horrible on here. Merely my opinion.
  • Powell has to go, and quickly if we are to have any chance of survival. He does not have a tactical bone in his body, he does not learn from his mistakes and he no longer has the team fighting.

Losing a game 2-1 that you are winning 1-0 with 5 mins to go, Dominating Birmingham and still losing 2-0 at home, going out of a cup 1/4 final to a team in the league below....... That is a team with relegation written all over it.
  • I never expected to beat Sheffield Utd but I did think it was a tie that was winnable. My support of Chris is full but his negative tactics game after game are now looking like they are killing us. Against QPR when we took the game to them we looked like a team that had had its handcuffs removed. I know the squad has it's deficiencies but 24 goals in 30 games is shocking. A continuation of the current tactics will see us relegated. Something has to change.

This sums it up for me. I too support Powell but our defensive approach over the last few months (especially yesterday) has really left me wondering. I hope he can change it/turn it round, but if I see Cousins out on that bloody right wing again on Wednesday, then.....

My favourite definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result/outcome. Change it up please CP

going out of a cup in a quarter final, yeah, crumbs, that's got relegation written all over it hasn't it. I'm sure if we got knocked out in the 3rd, 4th or 5th rounds it would've spelt administration...

What I am saying, is that a team getting into a 1/4 final of a big cup competition Vs a team in the league below should be playing with confidence (admittedly it is sometimes over confidence that gets teams knocked out by 'giant killers') but at no stage did we look the part of a team higher in the pyramid.

Yeah, i guess Villa, Fulham and Nottm Forest are all going to get relegated to league one as well. - Actually Fulham might be relegated there to save time.

That says it for me too. This has to change.

It reminded me very much of the performance a few years ago when we lost 2-0 at Forest in the 3rd round(?). We were bottom of the Prem and Forest were going well in the Championship - we looked 2nd best and clueless throughout. Confidence is an amazing thing in sport.

    Is Roland skint then?

Fulham have no confidence and appear a relegated team too. Perhaps Villa and Forest were over confident. Yes, these results happen - but its the manner in which they happen that is most telling. Put yesterday's performance along side the Wigan & Birmingham examples I posted above....seems to be the 'luck' of a relegated team to me.

If he knew it would intimate that Powell knew before the game Sunday, unbelievable if that is true

I think it's pretty clear that it is the case, and makes the fact that we started with none of Roland's players on Sunday even more relevant.

Explains a lot, he didn't deserve any of this.

So can all those angry at Powell and players on Sunday now re-direct their comments where they belong - to RD??

I've read rumours that Powell was being asked to play the loanees. Which he refused to do so.

Mate its a FA Cup 1/4 final with a chance to play at Wembley whoever the fck is in charge.

Would it, A, make me want to fight harder for the man to make it harder for the owner to sack him or B, just wimp out and make him look a shit manager.

Its an A from me maybe Im the weird one.
