Can't see a big crowd turning up to be honest. Think this is a nice gesture for Powell.sadiejane1981 said:You'll have to all do it now made the press.

It!! Hate all these pre-planned everyone do something at x mins or for x mins.
If you feel the need just start something on the night - it should be spontaneous if anything.
Always think these organised things are more a 'look at me/us' thing ' I really really really care I do' but each to their own.
Listen I love the guy, he's a CAFC legend but he knew Sunday was his last game - did he come over to thank us at the end??0 -

But spontaneous clapping is soooo American chick flicky, don't you think? Much more 'gay' so you call it.The Organiser said:It!! Hate all these pre-planned everyone do something at x mins or for x mins.

I think for the years of service he has given us as a player as well as a manager and for everything we achieved during his 4 spells with us we owe him some sort of tribute, it's a nice idea if it can be pulled off.
P.s if Powell did know he was going Sunday, he probably didn't want his last memory with the fans being hostile, as it would have been if he went over.0 -
What a good idea. I don't quite understand why so many people on here and on Facebook find it so hard to understand that others can be gutted Chris has gone, want to show their appreciation for him and also are capable of getting behind Jose and the team at the same time? Even if, as has been suggested by someone the whole game turns to a love in for Chris, why on earth would that upset the players? They seemed to like him and appreciate him too, and I am sure a noisy crowd will spur them on more than a quiet one?
I really don't get what Craig is on about ( no disrespect mate ) the applause for Petrov at Villa was a great idea, and as a one off for Chris I really don't see a problem, it has become clear over the last couple of days that the writing was on the wall at the weekend, and I don't think Chris wanted that scenario to be his last goodbye, as Sadie says.1 -
Just not for me mate but as I said above each to their own.
I just don't get the whole pre-conceived clappy thing.
I'm sure there would have been many a 'there's only one chris Powell' etc chanted naturaly tonight without the need to request and arrange for appreciation to be shown.0 -

Highlight of the night in that snooze fest for me0 -
I honestly didn't think it would take off like it did but well done to all promoting it and providing a platform for its success.
Onwards and upwards.0 -
Power of the internet and the ability to get things 'out there' in just a few hours.
Thanks everyone for taking this on, wife text saying she found it really emotional.
Bit of class. Just what the fella deserved.14 -

Was good and after that the support got behind the lads - which is what was required.
As much as I love him - and I do - CP is the past and for better or worse its time to move on.0 -
Forgot to say, massive respect to @BrockleyCAFC whose brilliant idea it was in the first place

Hit exactly the right tone. The applause and chanting was respectful and made it clear in no uncertain terms how we felt. Proud to be an Addick tonight.
There's only one Chris Powell!!2 -
What a moment, very powerful.
Now time to move on.0
