Charlton Image Galleries

Does anyone know a good source of Charlton images? Is there any appetite for doing something on here? Either using social media or maybe a section on this site using submissions or archive images... I'd love to have an easy-to-navigate selection of image galleries to flick through. With some good SEO it might not be too hard to dominate search. Might even make some decent ad revenue out of it!

Helpful, but not exactly what I meant. It's a thread, rather than a selection of photo galleries. I might just rip these, build one and see what people think.0

Nice to see Norm in that selection!Pedro45 said:1 -
Again.. thanks... that's just an image search though.
Imagine a page of square boxes, each one with a different subject on it (80s Valley Pics, Clive Mendonca celebrations, annual team photos etc), and when you click on a box, you get a hi-res image gallery with captions.
Like, say, this: http://skymovies.sky.com/top-100-box-office-rom-coms - and each of those images was tagged/ contained Alt-text, meaning it would appear high in searches. That would be beneficial to this site in terms of impressions and ad revenue. And we'd have an archive. I'll have a word with AFKA when he's back.

Will you be including a "whose rack" gallery ?1

And of course you will pay copyright fees on all the photos included?JiMMy 85 said:Like, say, this: http://skymovies.sky.com/top-100-box-office-rom-coms - and each of those images was tagged/ contained Alt-text, meaning it would appear high in searches. Like I said in the OP, i'd be looking for submissions and any images I can download that won't prove costly (I have access to a large database that could potentially be useful).Pedro45 said:

You could either be supportive or snarky. I guess you chose the latter. If I can build these galleries and ban you, I will.

Would be interested to find out how such a gallery could be created and then linked to the museum site at some time0

Good luck with your project. I was merely pointing out one of the often missed pitfalls; one which can be very costly if it is failed to be thought about up front. Image copyright can be a bit of a minefield, as many bloggers (and I am an ex-one) well know. The issue you might have is if you post images which fall under copyright, and then others download from your site and re-use. You could be liable. That is not being sarky/snarky or anything, merely correct. Additionally, if copyright holders know you are trying to make money from your site as you state (as per ad revenue) they could be more keen to see fees paid?
As I said, good luck. The idea is good but I think it may be too problematic to fulfill?
