PSG aren't exactly angels though are they and by all accounts plenty of them were out looking for trouble. I doubt you'll read much of this in our papers though.

"PSG's director of security Jean-Philippe d'Halliville told The Associated Press by telephone that some 100 fans from each side - including former members of PSG's notorious and now disbanded Kop of Boulogne hooligan group - fought for up to three minutes before riot police intervened.

    3 minutes?

fat, forty and carrying 15 pints of Stella Artois, highly unlikey!

300 Chelsea Headhunters went to fight, went to fight in Paris,
299 Chelsea Headhunters, 298 Chelsea Headhunters, 297 Chelsea Headhunters, 296 Chelsea Headhunters, 295 Chelsea Headhunters, 294 Chelsea Headhunters, 293 Chelsea Headhunters......
  • Like the "problems" here in Albufeira in 2004. A couple of scuffles on a Saturday night that the local police described as "no worse than any other Saturday night at the height of the holiday season". Journos paying groups of lads to kick off with each other, and after Portugal knocked England out a crowd of about 150 Portuguese outside Linekers bar goading and chanting at the England fans in there, who to their credit were ignoring the provocation completely. Totally misreported by sky and the newspapers, and the latter incident completely ignored.

What tosh. The media don't lie. Hooliganism is never exaggerated or over-reported. It was a fact that English hooligans, (don't call them fans) went to Portugal (via Morocco to avoid detection) with the sole intention of destructing the country, they marched down the high street goose stepping, nazi armbands on, screaming for murder.

I hope that prick with the one arm (Babs) is out there and they lock him up and throw away the key.

Babs wont be there because he was buried a year or two back.

Had a run in with him and his crew outside Stamford Bridge when we beat them on Boxing day back in the day. It got a bit tasty and he was just standing there waving his one arm about directing his troops to pile in on us. Fella I was with suffered minor stab wounds and it never sat well with me.

A good kicking was part and parcel of those days but no need for knives.

"You have to understand the local culture because some types of behaviour that might be acceptable in this country are not acceptable elsewhere."

This is where the misunderstanding arose. The Chelsea fans assumed it was appropriate to act like a twat when in France.

Not just the mainstream media who talk up the holliganism though is it.

Talk on forums, books, etc of things being "a bit tasty". "They were well up for it as well" "lots of old faces", etc etc

    Pornography of violence

True but it doesn't make the media right Henry. They have a responsibility to report on facts *sniggers*

They are just flogging the same porn. They have to pretend it's terrible but they run the stories so those who get their rocks off reading about this porn click on the links.

    And it works.

A fish rots from the head down. Perhaps the FA should reclaim Chelsea from Abramovich in response to his friend seizing Crimea.

Some locals really playing it up on SSN earlier, sounded like a scene from 300. For a city that riots almost once a year, you'd think they could handle a few chelsea lads

    That's a "riot" is it?

Definition: "a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd".

    So yes apparently.

Riot Act 1715 - If 12 or more people unlawfully assemble and disturb the public peace, they must disperse upon proclamation or be considered guilty of felony.

The "lots of old faces" quotes on here from time to time from those who pretend to have been a part of it all make me cringe.

As said, a lot of it is just talk - half of it coming from Chelsea fans back in England who think it makes them look cool.

I can't help feel he must have been at a disadvantage in a fight. Guessing he was probably good at using his legs.

Yes but the general public are taken in by their bs as they believe it to be true.

I'm not talking about people talking and glorifying about things that actually happened - it's the lies about what didn't happen.

Ultinately this bs is then used to justify further dranconian measures used on football fans and makes the general public think all English football fans are racist thugs.

From a valid source in Paris:

Chelsea were minding their own business, PSG turned up and fronted them and got ran up the road. And that all dates back to history between the two in 2004, which was 10 times worse but didn't make any news.

No racist chanting, no salutes, no EDL rubbish, no smashing up the City but because of them reports, that is what is stuck in the publics mind.

    Really grates on me.

Not denying Chelsea had a support out there more than happy to oblige (to put it politely) due to previous incidents between the two. It's just all the other completely made up rubbish that is.... well....rubbish.

Does make you laugh when grown men choose violence as a way to express passion for there football team. Pathetic. If you want a fight get in a ring.
