''The quarter-finals of the European Table Tennis Championships:“In the women’s singles, two-time European champion Li Jiao of the Netherlands (2007 and 2011), lost to Portugal’s Fu Yu. In the semi-finals, Fu Yu will meet Sweden’s Li Fen, who defeated the best European in the world rankings, Shen Yanfei, world No 11. The other semi-final will be all-German, with Shan Xiaona playing Han Ying”
In the final Fen Li (Sweden) beat Xiaona Shan (Germany) 4-2''
This was picked up by Le Monde Diplomatique which was trying to make a serious point about the increasing popularity of dual nationality as well as the difficulty in the modern world of defining nationality in the first place
