That we are staying up?

I can't make up my mind yet but the Reading and Yeovil game will be interesting as they are both winnable matches.

With us being 2 points behind Birmingham if we go pass them after two games and the other teams around us lose points then confidence will certainly grow amoungst the team and the fans.

    Other then a 10 day blip, i have always believed we would stay up this season and that has only improved in the last few weeks.

    We might not be the greatest team in the league but i believe 3 or 4 teams are worse and we have some real fight in us, we will be fine.

    This is Charlton we never do anything easy, as soon as we think were safe one or two of the bottom teams will go on a winning streak and shit us up for a bit longer.

    Also if/when we are safe it will be due to one of the other teams playing a day later meaning we can't celebrate at one of the games live.

    Always been optimistic whilst knowing there is a possibility of relegation. Hoping minimum of two wins out of the next 4. Thing is with us you can never be certain, even when we went 12 on the trot we ended up losing to yhe bottom club.

    For me it seems to change game by game. Too many are taking itfor granted IMO, post Leeds. The position is a similar one to post Forest, and that didn't loom so great post Derby.

    The gap is small yet still 20+ points still to play for for everyone. Only takes two teams to have a decent run and we are struggling. The lack of goals really concerns me, as I'm not convinced I can see it changing much, so we will need to rely on A1 defending and going that extra mile in the key games.

    More confident now though than I was a month ago.

    Never confident, but reckon we've got a good chance of being OK. The goal difference has been particularly helpful on that score, so if the defence can keep up the good work I'll be happy.

    A month ago there was no way I could see us winning at Forest and Leeds. We're certainly not out of the woods yet, though Riga has marginally improved our forward movement and those two away wins have done us the power of good. I'm wary of Barnsley continuing their revival, but on paper our run-in is favourable with only one of our remaining nine opponents currently in the top eight (Reading on Saturday). I think we'll survive, and send the Spanners down.

    Millwall and Barnsley in a lot of trouble, Yeovil very attacking. Just 3 more wins to do it for me.

    Quite simply, I would rather be in our position that the position of the three teams below us.

    The gap to yeovil and millwall now forces them to win games. Draws are no good to them but whether that is a good or bad thing i don't yet.

    We are due to win a relegation fight.

    Very confident!

    First we have the easiest (on paper) run in of the bottom five; of the top teams, we only play fifth place Reading. Conversely, our nearest rivals Barnsley play 2nd (Burnley), 3rd (QPR) and 4th (Derby.

    Also, none of the other bottom five teams play each so that one of those would be expected to get three points.

    We could soon overtake Birmingham, because their next three games are all away.

    Obviously, we really need not to lose against the two relegation battles (Yeovil/Barnsley)

    Can't afford to lose games 0-3, it's not doing our goal difference any good. It would be nice to vang in a few goals against Barnsley & Yeovil as they will count as double against them.

    Still think B'ham will fall into the bottom 3. Can't understand how Clark is still there, looking forward to seeing his happy face when they take the drop.

    Things change more quickly with 3 points for a win. We could play well on Saturday and draw with Reading while Barnsley play badly but sneak a win. It doesn't look so good then. Certainly, the Barnsley game is a 'not lose' game.

    I don't think Millwall and Yeovil are down yet, although beating Yeovil will make a big difference. Back to back wins would soon change things for Millwall and Yeovil. Pulling Birmingham into the pack would be good news and getting results that are as good as Barnsley's are the key factors for me. While it's 3 from 4, it only needs one of the other three to get unexpected results. If it could become 3 from 5 or 6, it all looks much better.

    True. They haven't won at home for 11 games i think. Two brummie mates say they are glad the next 3 are away.

    Looking at out fixtures now, none of them are matches I fear, potentially we could get something out of all of them (though we probably won't)

    We have to be confident and I think the players should be too. No help going into games feeling nervous or apprehensive at this stage of the season, if the players believe it then I'm sure we'll do it.

    4 points from the next 2 games and i think we'll be well on our way to being safe. Barnsley have 2 tough games this week

    Am confident enough to say if we beat Yeovil and Barnsley then we're safe... Although

    (1) I know thats not a done deal just by saying we'll beat them
    (2) They could of course go on a run (as Barnsley are doing) and continue to remain up our backsides for a while yet
