Rockstar or Footballer?

If you had the choice for either dream like profession, What would you do?

If you feel strongly about something else there is the "other" option.

My answer very narrowly slants towards rockstar. Only if my music was really good and I was proud of it.

I'm going with 'other'. I'd be a decent sized DJ, travelling the world making and playing music I love (techno), getting paid £5k+ a gig and remaining anonymous in the public eye. It would be a blessed existence.

Rockstar. I was always rubbish at football.

Being in my 50s, along with a lot of people my age, I grew up wanting to be an Astronaut.

These days I would like to win the Euromillions and I would spend most of it on running a team in the 24-hour race at Le Mans. I used to think it would be good to own a football club, but look at the abuse owners get these days.

Would be a filmmaker. Good enough to be remembered and be a millionaire but be able to walk down the street without getting noticed... Much.

Easy choice, Rockstar. You're allowed to act 'bad'....in fact it's expected of you!

    Rockstar

Having watched this last night, it'd have to be in the 60's/70's though

As others have said, being in the public eye would put a big dampner on things, I for one would hate it. You have to be a certain kind of person to carry that on your back.

If I was a premier league footballer on 20k a week and could roam round Bluewater without any recognition, I'd be very happy. Able to blend in, have the best of both worlds.

    Give ya this one.

Playing for England at a world cup, or, headlining Glastonbury?

Other - zoologist and animal conservationist.

Give me a bit of solitude and the company of animals. I don't really do humans.

Great shout this. I'd go down the house music route, perhaps a nice residency in Ibiza for the summer, Vegas in the winter.

    That or a pro boxer

For me it would have to be a footballer, I would love to play my entire career at Charlton, turning down higher money elsewhere etc.

Shame I'm crap! Although I have a much more powerful shot than Simon Church... But then again so does my Gran and she's dead.

See that monkey planet the other night? Brilliant.

I wrote an essay on why it would be better to be a gorilla then a human.
Might try and dig it out.

A paid decent job regarding zoology is probably very hard to get into but yes, quite appealing.

Would have to be footballer, I love my music but haven't a clue how to play a musical instrument and I certainly can't sing.

Footballer till the age of 30 and then porn star for the next 10 years followed by a leisurely 3rd career as a QC.
  • I'd be David Attenborough... After having a career at Charlton

I think it is a hyperthetical question and not about what you could achieve with your current skill set :)
  • Footballer the best ever the world has seen

    Scoring loads of goals

Winning and scoring in every major cup comp

Winnjng the World Cup and euro

Scoring In the final to win them

Never giving an interview never doing the wag bullshit

Staying at cafc for my whole career making them a world football power and one of the richest in the world and in return being the best paid footballer ever

International cricketer. You spend half your time out in the sun, the other half having a laugh with your mates in the changing rooms and when it rains you don't have to go to work.

Footballer. I like to think I'd forever stay at Charlton and smash Bartram's and Peacock's appearance records, going on to captain both club and country to unprecedented glory.

    This...

At the end of the day I'll always be a Charlton fan and could never imagine putting the shirt on belonging to another club (wouldnt feel right even if they were just my employers as my Saturdays are spent watching this club)
  • Footballer. More to the point, a non-goal scoring forward. Would guarantee me a 15 year career picking up wages at charlton.
